A Midnight Melody [Tattooed Bride Blog]

Today I bring you images from Jessica Vellecorsa whose photography sure is an inky treat for the eyes! (You’ll see what I mean if you hit the blog!)

Here is what Jess says:

If there is one thing I love, it’s unique wedding photography. And when you pair it with night time portraits, I’m in heaven. I get to photograph bridals AND play with dramatic lighting?!?! Swoon….!

So when Jessica and I decided to do bridal portraits after dark, I went on a search for the perfect location. We headed to Hotel Zaza in Houston and explored the surrounding around, including St Paul’s church. The location was absolutely to die for, and we thought it would be perfect with some dramatic lighting!

I totally agree! My favourite is her owl chest piece! Do leave some love for both Jessicas! – Rach.XX

  1. great photos…. and excellent tattoos !!

  2. Absolutely stunning! I am jealous – on so many levels. To the tog – is the brolly externally lit from above? I would love to know how you got that spotlight effect in it.

  3. Thanks!! I used 1 or 2 external 380ex II strobes, set up on tripods (I prefer them over lightstands). I aimed them directly at Jess with a Gary Fong difuser on each, and zoomed the main light in to 85mm…. set about 8 ft from the subject! 🙂

  4. Oh! And in the umbrella pic, she’s holding the flash with a purple gel over the end of it. 😉
