Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you a fabulous lingerie line which is perfect for your wedding day.. If you love the fashion of the Twenties then you’re in for a real treat! Recently, I had the chance to chat Ellis Stansfield – The creator of Effie Butterworth.
One of the most important things to me when I started ‘Effie Butterworth’ was the branding and imagery; from the very outset I decided I could not and would not scrimp on these things. The inspiration for the business name came from my two wonderful grandmothers and it has been important to me to honour their names.
I started my hunt for amazing branding with the logo, website header and business card and I think we can all agree that Scarlett Rickard certainly delivered on this – almost 12 months on from first seeing the original designs I am still completely in love.
My next search was for the photo shoot. I compiled a list of the things that mattered to me, one of which was diversity – I love tattoos and I always want to see more of them in the fashion and wedding industry. (Marry Me Ink – you’re doing it so right!) I had met Katie through mutual friends and knew immediately that she would be perfect for the shoot; luckily she was totally up for it! I had never even entertained the idea of modelling for my own lingerie line, however on my look out for a second model I came to realise that I met my own criteria, so I decided to bite my lip and embrace it.
Gareth from Furmoto Photography was an exceptional choice of photographer. We met in York beforehand to discuss ideas and the overall look and I was blown away by his enthusiasm for the project; the final images are exactly what I was hoping for! Elegant, vintage and diverse – something a little different from other lingerie shoots. Having stayed at La Rosa Hotel before I already knew that they were an amazing business and I didn’t hesitate to get in touch with them about the use of Swallow Barn for the photoshoot. The location and barn were idyllic, if not a little cold in January!
