A Tattooed Fawn Bridal Shoot

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you a styled bridal shoot from Stella Photography who created ‘Offbeat Stories’ a small group of wedding suppliers based around the Manchester/Cheshire border. Their love of dealing with brides with a strong sense of their own style brought them together for their first photo shoot ‘Spring Fawn’. Their main aim for this shoot was to go with the celebration of Spring and to keep it as quirky as they are as a group.

The idea of using taxidermy, tattoos and vintage furniture came from our collective love of antiquities, skull structures and ink. We used antlers and flora as a theme to build around then we each added our individual contributions of talent and due to some good local knowledge from Bec, half of the Diddibox team we ended up with the perfect, tumble-down cottage in which to stage our painted Fawn bride.

Diddibox Flowers used a mixture of home grown sweet peas, succulents, eucalyptus, phalaenopsis orchids, parrot tulips, David Austin Juliet roses, lissianthus and ivy. Chief at Diddibox, Alison says using seasonal blooms always works better for weddings as flowers are at their natural best. They created a loose, informal, wild look to the designs as if the ingredients had been picked, fresh that morning.

The cakes (because lets not forget cakes, we are talking weddings here and who doesn’t love cake at a wedding?) were made by the lovely Sarah of Pink Cocoa. A ‘semi naked’ layer cake was created using handmade sugar ranunculus, succulents and rice paper feathers and the second cake which was iced and featured an extra deep middle tier was adorned with sugar antlers and moulding, finally being covered with a glass dome, to echo the taxidermy/skulls element of the shoot.

The Tattooed Wedding Collective At Scarborough Tattoo Show

So after a month of quiet here at Marry Me Ink (Seriously, it’s been chaotic here), many things have happened including welcoming a rescue Dachshund into our home. Over the second May bank holiday weekend, myself and Legend Bridal took The Tattooed Wedding Collective on tour – this time to the Scarborough Tattoo Show.

We had a wonderful weekend in Scarborough along with Andy of Peacock Obscura Photography and Stuart and Jason of Kokino Hair.

Whilst there at the weekend, Rachel, Sam and Stuart all got tattooed by the beautiful Maddison Magick Tattoo.

Later on on the Saturday night, Maddison tried on one of the new Legend Bridal designs – and boy did she look hot in it!

The Urban Tel-Aviv Bride

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to bring you a cool shoot from Lior Rotstein Photography. As well as the cute simplistic tattoos, we have some gorgeous dresses from Lee Kodo – The perfect dresses for urban bride.

‘Urban Bride’ is already a holistic concept in the wedding-world.. We gave our own interpretation to the urban bride. A bride who dares to wear a dress which is not necessarily the romantic-springy-flowery one.

The makeup by Ruth Toledo, we wanted to be subtle but present, skin-tone work is minimal, moisture-cream blended with a light makeup, light powdering, and winter toned lips (we used rich red, plum, bordeaux colours). The hair is styled in a light fashion (“I just woke up like this”). All of that comes with a photographic documentation. We gave a few ‘look’-proposals, with mixing varieties of styles – 20’s with a masculine jeans jacket that we found in our closet, metal blue stiletto heels.

The Tattooed Wedding Collective

So last weekend marked the 6th Tattoo Tea Party at Manchester’s Event City where Legend Bridal and I launched The Tattooed Wedding Collective and had with us some amazing suppliers who we loved getting to now over the course of the weekend after only ever speaking online.

After stamping 100 bags and filling them with goodies each morning, it was great to meet some awesome people over the weekend including some of you that are planning your own tattooed wedding! The epic ZT Photography joined us over the weekend and took the models and myself for a mini shoot by the dodgems on the last day – We had so much fun!

Debbie Gillespie Cake Design

As well as Debbie’s show stopping cakes, we also had Paragon Floral Design with us over the weekend and their eye catching area – complete with flying crows. They certainly attracted the majority of the visitors to our corner.

We also had Unity Ceremonies with us who, on their stand, had a beautiful example of one the weddings Liz had been a part of.

Unity Civil Celebrancy

We also had the delight of having Art for Soles customised shoes with us too – Complete with Harry Potter and Walking Dead shoes and bags!

There were also beautiful tweed and glittery bows and perfect accessories for your pretty little head from Fruit Bat Textiles too – So much so, Zoe wore one all weekend!

And keeping our models looking pristine all weekend, we had the fabulous Kokino Hair and award winning bridal make up artist Sonara Parker on hand all weekend creating plenty of looks to match the dresses.
