Edgy & Modern Woodland Winter Photoshoot at The Pumping House

Today on Marry Me Ink, this is the first post of 2021 as I’ve been busy working within the NHS throughout the Pandemic, I get to share with you this gorgeous styled shoot from Chris, Birmingham Wedding Photographer – Artisan X Wedding Photography and Amulet Wedding & Events that took place last year at The Pumping House, Ollerton.

Set in the distinctive Pumping House, a local landmark in the heart of Sherwood Forest, this edgy and modern winter photoshoot perfectly blends the striking industrial spaces with the soft and romantic forest surroundings. The venue spaces provided an ideal backdrop to juxtapose the dramatic and moody style of the model. We wanted to create
contrasting scenes to showcase each suppliers work whilst highlighting a variety of unconventional & alternative looks.

Dove and Lace specialise in design of luxury and unique wedding and event stationery –
“The Pumping House has an edgy and industrial vibe which I wanted to capture and portray through the stationery and also to tie in with the alternative, moody and romantic theme of our shoot. From the smaller and finer details on the table, to the main invitation flat lay, the focus was to be edgy, but elegant, distinctive but commercial, still appealing to a wide audience of couples.

For the shoot, I provided the mauve pink vellum menus, hand calligraphy place names with hand dyed silk ribbons. Plus, for the flat lay, an invitation, RSVP, extra details card and vellum wrap, finished with a luxury pink velvet ribbon. Each element has the black and blush theme running throughout to highlight the moody but romantic vibes.”

Halloween Spook With A Sparkle

Halloween is one of my favourite times of year, so when this shoot from Magpie Event Planning and Jamie Webb Photography landed in my inbox, I obviously had to share on the run-up to the 31st! I got the chance to speak to Daniella of Magpie Event Planning on the idea behind their sparkly, yet spooky shoot..

Halloween doesn’t always mean dark and black to all couples, some brides wish to demonstrate a glitzier side to the holiday, and Magpie Event Planning together with a fab team of suppliers combined spook with sparkle!

This involved glittery tableware from The Pretty Accessory and drinks shimmer from The Unicorn Shimmer Co, served in skeleton stemmed glassware alongside personalised pumpkin napkins from Extra Special Touch. We added the spook with some fantastic stationery from Hey Belles which added a touch of Ouija board next to the beautiful red glitzed cake by Edible Essence and of course a skeleton – our cake table was in fact a historic stretcher which was used in the time which Eggbuckland Keep was in use.

A Natural & Romantic Styled Shoot – The Tetley, Leeds

I hope you all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend? Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you this gorgeous styled shoot from Your Choice Photography that took place at The Tetley in Leeds. The Tetley is part of Leeds history, and is a little bit of old meets new with redesign inside which makes for a lovely backdrop and versatile enough for any couple.

Jordan & Jamie have been together some years now, and travelled over from Birmingham to take part in the beautiful shoot. Jamie models in the alternative industry and had just the look that I was after… she is really authentic and very sweet. Jordan is a guitarist in ‘Failure Is An Option’ and the pair give off this natural sweet, but rock ‘n’ vibe!

All the styling on the day was by Add Vintage, Emily created some beautiful looks which were incredible when combined with the illuminations from Love Lights The Way.

A Dreamy Bridal Shoot In An Emptied Swimming Pool

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you an awesome spontaneous bridal shoot from Katie Dell Bridal Designs, Don’t Settle Petal and Lizzie of Shoot It Momma. The shoot was so spontaneous as Lizzie was contacted by her local sports centre to cancel her daughter’s swimming lesson due to pool being drained for repairs. Lizzie jumped at the chance and asked
immediately asked “Any chance I can I come and take photos in it while it’s empty?”.

“That is how easy it was to draw a big red line through one of the items on my photography bucket list.  I can happily say that ‘photo shoot in an empty swimming pool’ has been well and truly done thanks to general maintenance at my local sports centre!” explained Lizzie.

Along with Jody from Don’t Settle Petal I was more than a little bit excited for the opportunity. Not only is she a very talented florist, she’s also an awesome model and aced every part of it. I’m particularly loving her decision to add pink to her hair this week because it stood out perfectly from the blue of the pool!

Dresses came from the love that is Katie Dell Designs and even though we got them a little bit wet, no dresses were harmed during the shoot!  Katie Dell is launching their second collection, bringing a beautifully diverse range of simple silhouettes and modern textured fabrics.
