Dreads, Cactus Tattoos & A Lot Of Love – Caitlin & Aaron

It’s finally getting sunny here in Manchester (But it’s still freezing!), so I had to share this gorgeous, sunny desert shoot of Caitlin and Aaron from Emily Grace Photography.

Caitlin and Aaron never got the images back from their actual wedding that their friend photographed, so this shoot was able to create the memories that they never received. This just goes to show that hiring a professional to photograph your wedding is key. I’m so glad that they managed to create more memories at Assateague Island in Maryland and have them photographed by Emily as part of the House of Flynn shoot session in Ocean City.

They are a beautiful, dread head couple who own the coffee shop, A Latte Enjoy, on 2nd Street in Ocean City – I recently had an amazing opportunity to work on styled wedding shoot with a few of my fellow House of Flynn Tribe members in Assateague Island, MD. House of Flynn is fantastic company that focuses on photography related apparel and camera bags. Their bags are absolutely fantastic and you’ll definitely catch me carrying mine around at weddings!

I loved getting to know Caitlin and Aaron during their intimate portrait session. It broke my heart to hear they never actually received their wedding photos. All the more reason to set up this session! It was so wonderful strolling around the beach with them and the other HOF Tribe members. Aaron had me cracking up with the story of how they met, but since it’s not PG you’ll just have to ask them about it.  Continue reading

Kristi & Chris’ Woodland Wedding Portraits

ff_028

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you gorgeous tattooed bride Kristi and her husband Chris’ portraits that they had done specially after their wedding day at Chris’ dad’s ranch by Ali of Kesner Creative.

We both met at a destination wedding – We were the only two people from Florida. We ended up making out for two days straight and, after our goodbyes, texted each other non-stop. After three months of over 3hours drives to visit each other, we moved in together.

Out day was about having all our closest family and friends together and just celebrating with everyone.

Planning Your Engagement Photography – Common Mistakes & How To Overcome Them

Soft Elegance Photography (5)

Today on Marry Me Ink, I had the chance to speak to Paula of Soft Elegance Photography and her tips and advice when planning your engagement or pre-wedding shoot.

Soft Elegance Photography (19)

16 common mistakes and tips to overcome those mistakes for your Engagement Photography

1. Location
Sometimes, a shy client may choose a location that is swarming with people, which only amplifies their shyness and tension during shoots. Be sure to research the best times to visit a location! But, let’s be honest, the more comfortable you feel, the more natural and honest your captured expressions will be.

2. Time of Day
Photo sessions which occur outdoors, in the middle of high noon, while the sun is at its brightest with no shade available is a disaster waiting to happen.

3. Select your wardrobe
Oh my gosh! How many morning have you stood in front of your abundantly full closet and said, “What am I going to wear!?” Here are some tips: – Select a color palette with one to two colors and add neutrals. In selecting your colors, feel free to pick different shades within that palette. This will allow a more balanced image.

4. Solid colors are preferred over patterns
Why? Because patterns take the attention away from the subject (that’s you) and draw the eye to the patterned clothing. Also, many patterns are extremely overwhelming. I’m not saying don’t do it, but be selective.

5. Do not wear the same outfits or colors
For example: you and your honey shouldn’t show up in blue jeans and a white shirt. Attempt to counterbalance each other.

Today on Marry Me Ink from Savannah Lauren Photography is Seth and Lauren’s gorgeous tattooed and bearded engagement shoot.

I met Seth two years ago. He was invited to join me and his sister Savannah for Indian food. About a year later, July 2015, I had accidentally invited him to an event where we watched a movie in the park. Seth came up to me and thanked me for inviting him. We started talking that day and we haven’t really stopped talking since.

I knew I wanted to marry Seth only a few weeks into dating him and I had never felt that way about anyone else. He felt the same way. It really is like they say “When you know, you know”. We both definitely knew! Seth was clear about his intentions with me and that helped us to build trust really quickly.
