How To Plan Wedding Decor On A Budget Without Sacrificing Quality

Planning a wedding on a budget isn’t as easy as it seems. Simple things can start to add up quickly, especially decor for tables, entrances and even around the aisle. Here seven simple ways to plan wedding decor that looks classy and elegant without blowing up a budget.

1. Pick a Beautiful Location

One of the simplest ways to spend less on wedding decor is to pick a stunning location to begin with. Outdoor venues with a beautiful overlook or a garden with plenty of flowers and greenery are great spaces to hold a wedding or reception without needing to buy extra decor. Non-traditional couples can even opt to get married in an art gallery or bed and breakfast to find a classic charm that doesn’t need any extras.

2. Don’t Feel Afraid to Rent

Buying every single piece of decor from the flowers to the centerpieces can add up and quickly cause couples to go over budget. Instead, renting china, drinkware and even decorations from friends can save money in the long-run. Before purchasing brand new china or table linens, check with different wedding venues to see what’s included in the package price. Then, ask recently married friends if they have any decor they could loan or rent for a lower price.

3. Use In-Season Flowers

Some brides dream about using their favorite flower on their wedding day, from roses to lilies. However, depending on when a wedding takes place, those flowers may not be in season. Choosing to decorate with in-season flowers can significantly reduce the cost of decor. Check with a wedding planner or a florist to find out which flowers are in season during your wedding date and make them the focal point to avoid rising costs.

Another option is to use paper flowers or silk flowers, which look exactly like the real thing. They’re more cost-effective, and you can use them again if one of your friends gets married or another event pops up.

4. DIY Everything You Can

Thankfully, the internet makes it easy to DIY almost anything for a wedding, even if the bride isn’t particularly crafty. Use YouTube and Pinterest for DIY ideas and put together everything from elegant centerpieces to rustic chalkboard signs. This is a great time to recruit friends and family members that are crafty or have some free time on their hands to help with wedding decor.

My M&M’S® – Personalised Wedding Favours & Treats

Today on Marry Me Ink I get you share with you one of my favourite things with you – CHOCOLATE!! On the run up to our own wedding, we’ve battled and discussed many ideas for wedding favours for our guests and finally decided on idea, then I heard about My M&M’s® and that you can personalise your own for your wedding day!!

I obviously obliged when My M&M’s® contacted me to personalise my own.. I thought I’d give it a whirl with our own wedding theme – Can you guess what it is?

Even with all this glorious weather we’re experiencing here up in the North, they survived the heat as the packs come weather-proof and sent in a cool pack – pretty ace if you ask me!

You can have almost anything printed on on them (Including a photograph of yourselves), and in whatever colour you want! As you can see I went with green and teal (My favourite colours) as well as personalising them with the Deathly Hallows (HP Geeks ahoy) symbol and our names.

If you haven’t already sent out your Save The Dates yet, I think mini bags would have been nice with the details on for your guests.. It might persuade them to pencil the date in even more!

You can also give them out as standard wedding favours to your guests or on a sweet table if you’d rather be more traditional.

My M&M’s® are offering Marry Me Ink readers 15% off their next order with them.. Simply go here to start personalising your own!

Gifts For The Guys – Jack Daniels

With just a year to go until our big day (I know, right?! It’s coming around so quickly), I’ve been looking into gifts for our bridesmaids and groomsmen to say thank you for all the group chats they’re having to put up with about dresses, suits and hotel stays for the wedding.

One type of gift I’ve been looking into is one that can be personalised (and alcoholic to calm themselves once the wedding is over!). Rob and one of his groomsmen loves Jack Daniels and is a common and easiest present to gift either of them when Christmas and birthdays come around.

Now, Jack Daniels have different batches at their distillery and I’ve sampled a couple myself – the one they gifted me with in their hamper was their Single Barrel Select.

“Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel is finely crafted from one specially selected barrel at the Jack Daniel’s Distillery. Not just any Jack Daniel’s Barrel is granted the status of Single Barrel – with only one out of every 100 barrels being hand-selected by the Jack Daniel’s Master Tasting Panel having met the standard. Sent to mature in the highest reaches of the barrelhouse, the extremes in temperature across the seasons creates the bold and robust flavours of the whiskey inside.

With every individual bottle imparting its own exclusive taste, each is hand-labelled and marked with a unique rick number and bottling date.

Single Barrel Select offers a distinctive, full-bodied taste with notes of vanilla, toasted oak and caramel. Harbouring less sweetness and more power than the original Old No.7, the Single Barrel Select offers a much richer variation. With no two barrels producing the same whiskey, Jack Daniel’s delivers a one-of-a-kind gift.”

Thanks to Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel, picking a gift for your groomsmen (or bridesmaid if they’re a Whiskey fan!) is one less thing to worry about! As well as being able to purchase such a one-of-a-kind flavoursome spirit, they can also help by personalising the bottle at the Jack Daniel’s Store.

I’m looking forward to opening this bottle and making myself a Whiskey Sour – What’s your favourite way to drink Whiskey?
