Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you a magical venue that is new to the alternative wedding scene – perfect for the tattooed bride and groom. The Fishpond is set in Matlock Bath near the Peak District. The awesome Becky Ryan Photography teamed up with Victoria of The Fishpond Freehouse and tattooed beauty Tiffany and her partner Lee to show just how much it’s a perfect venue for your upcoming alternative wedding.
The Fishpond in Matlock Bath, Derbyshire is the perfect little venue for those seeking a quirky wedding venue. Set in the popular tourist town of Matlock Bath, it has everything the discerning alternative bride needs: Candy, motorbikes, ice cream, arcades, and fish & chips. The only thing missing here is the sea – Matlock Bath truly is a unique landlocked seaside town.
The Fishpond itself also has everything an alternative bride could possibly need. From the moment you enter this cosy pub you are welcomed by the friendly team, who ensure the venue is always offering something for everyone. It’s ideally set up for weddings too with its 200 capacity ballroom with original vaulted ceiling and self contained bar. We also have a beautiful Restaurant with cosy and relaxed decor – the ideal location for the ceremony and intimate dining, a stunning multi tiered garden to the rear with a hot spring waterfall and an outside bar.

Plus Abbey Pumping station, opened in 1891 and this Victorian pumping station is now a museum, but the great news is that this venue has just been given their wedding license. We are the first companies to gain permission to shoot at this venue and as you can image we were very excited to be given the go ahead, as we love to see all the unusual and alternative venues that weddings are now taking place in and this one really does have the wow factor for the alternative, Marry Me Ink bride.

I love anything that is quirky and slightly unusual, so to design for a steampunk Alice theme was just my thing. The shoot was amazing to be a part of and everyone involved were so enthusiastic and absolutely love what they do you can really see this I feel in the
