A Tattooed Gamer Wedding In Lancashire – Lianne & Dan

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you an awesome Northern wedding from Tattooed Wedding Photography. Lianne and Dan got married at Garstang Country Hotel and had nerdy elements such as a Pokeball ring box. What a great way to combine a classic “white wedding” with their own personality.

The whole day was amazing. My highlight was probably seeing Dan’s face when I walked down the aisle. I’ve never seen him look so happy. Dan’s says his highlight was when we were saying the vows and I was holding his hand, he could tell I was nervous and excited at the time. Also having the music we love playing in the evening.

I knew I didn’t want a dress with a lace top or sleeves so my tattoos could be seen better. I went dress shopping with an open mind, tried loads on and my maid of honour burst into tears when I tried this one on so I knew I had a winner.

Merry Kitschmas! Tasty Sweet Christmas Wedding Inspiration

It’s December!! And in three weeks time will be one of my favourite times of the year – Christmas!

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you this amazing styled shoot from Chloe Lee Photography and Michaela at Clear Hearts – THE Rock and Roll events planner for the UK.. Imagine all your favourite things about Christmas all in one place – That’s what this shoot is about. I love it when my house looks like Christmas threw up in it and this is why I love this shoot – full of all the vintage and kitsch wonders you can find!

The idea was born of my love of “more is more,” Bjork and artists like Paul Yore, this mixed with Chloe Lee’s love of all things kitsch, Disney and O.T.T. Meant the cuteness flowed. She is the perfect pick for photographer as she knows how to make everything look adorable.

I (Michaela, Clear Hearts) got all of us involved in bringing the kitsch, even though we all had different jobs on this shoot the team bought some of their fave Christmas Kitsch items for me to add into the styling. It made for such a great selection and made the van so full of fun. Kayleigh K our MUA bought her personal style of flawless bright skin and she added some beautiful sparkle to fit our theme.

The cake with biscuits hanging from it was the genius idea of Malarkey cakes who also made the sparkly doughnuts hanging on the DIY mini doughnut wall made by Clear Hearts. They created the adorable biscuit pops which eliminated any sticky finger problems as the bride and groom tucked in enthusiastically.

Looking at the models  (makeup artist Yazz and tattoo artist Chris) you can see why Paper Hearts paintings was so keen to illustrate their likeness, she did a beautiful job and it turned out the couple were already big fans of her work! What a lovely Christmas gift that they got to keep after the fun day of shooting.

A Black Theme Wedding In December – Amy & Paul

Scone-29There’s something beautiful about black & white, It looks so classical. This is exactly how Amy & Paul’s wedding looks. Beautiful. Photographer Kelly Weech is fantastic. Amy & Paul look so happy.

“We often buy each other tattoo time for birthdays and Christmas. It’s kind of a safe bet as its not just going to sit in the cupboard collecting dust and you get to keep it forever!”

Scone-17“When we told people that we were having black as our colour/theme, I think they expected us to have skulls and some kind of demonic figures everywhere! The actual reason we choose black was because I think it is quite timeless and it gave us an elegant yet simple feel. I wanted nice clean lines. We both said from the start that although we were having a sit down meal, we didn’t want anything too formal, just a nice relaxed atmosphere where all our guests could sit relax and enjoy themselves, especially with having the wedding only three days after Christmas.  The atmosphere, happy go lucky time where we could all eat drink and be merry represented us as a couple. Having all of our family together was quite an important factor as we don’t get to see everyone together very often, we’re all a little scattered around the country .

Scone-3“We did a lot of DIY in the preparation for the wedding,we started by printing and making our own invitations, which was surprisingly easier than we thought but we did keep it simple and in context with the black theme. I also decorated some lanterns to go down either side of the aisle.
