A DIY Deli Wedding On The Welsh Coast – Claire & Charis

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you this beautiful Welsh coast wedding from amazing photography and alternative film team When Charlie Met Hannah. Brides Claire and Charis met online over 10 years ago where their first date included Claire spilling a cup of tea all over herself. They got married at the cute Cobbles Kitchen & Deli on the Vale of Glamorgan Coast and made a gorgeous back drop to their day.

We’re quite laid-back and not exactly traditional I guess you could say. There were loads of little things in our day to represent us; from our boots and Harry Potter socks, to the music that we love, to the cake (brownies for Charis and blondies for Claire). The whole thing was about us, what we like, what we enjoy together and who we are.

As far as DIY elements in our wedding there were lots. I spent ages writing up chalk signs and spray painting tins, to hold the flowers that lined our aisle. Charis made the little bride cake toppers from Prosecco corks, and drinking Prosecco is always fun!

A Northern, Gothic & Tattooed Wedding By The Sea – Samantha & Stuart

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you this beautiful coastal wedding full of gothic animal skulls and a cute tattoo station from Photography and Film by Charli

We first met each other as I was friends with Stu’s sister, bumped into them and it was the first time we’d ever been introduced, he asked for my number and text me the next day asking for a date!

We had lots of DIY bits at our wedding – Since we wanted something a bit different for our day, it wasn’t always easy to source something that was of the right theme. We used lots of animal skulls and gothic features which mirrored our personalities! We also had a tattoo station which was perfect for us, since we are both tattooed and planning more!

The tattoo station was all made by us, that was a lot of fun to build and paint! The bunting for the top table and the memorial candle box display too. It was great seeing all the hard work pay off and all the people we love so much having an amazing time.

A Pastel Themed Wedding At Daytona Beach – Amanda & Alex

I love a coastal beach wedding and tattooed bride Amanda and husband Alex’s is no exception. From Tampa wedding photographer We Are The Portos comes their gorgeous day, filled with family and friends. I had the chance to speak to Phil of We Are The Portos about Amanda and Alex’s day..

I, Phil, have known Alex for years through the hardcore music scene. In a scene full of guys with chips on their shoulders or just sketchy, Alex has always been one of the most sincere dudes I know. He is a stand up guy and when I started to see from a far his love for Amanda, I couldn’t help being excited for him. Speaking to Amanda over text and phone calls from the time we got hired to the day of the wedding, proved that Alex found the perfect bride for himself.

The atmosphere of the day was great. Alex was nervous as he was getting ready, but in a middle school boy asking a girl to the dance kind of nervous. Amanda and her girls were having a great time at the hotel listening to early 2000’s rap and popping bottles.

The family and friends truly made it a really fun atmosphere. Everyone was easy to get a long with and when one bottle is being passed around for everyone to drink, you know they are enjoying themselves.

Our advice to all our couples is make the day about you guys. Details, decorations, dresses, etc… are all great, but the most important thing is to remember who you get to marry. Just enjoy the day above all things. Celebrate with friends and family but do not alter your day to please others. It is about the bride and groom, everyone else should be honored to be invited to be part of something so amazing.

On Marry Me Ink today is Sophie, who radiates a fifties tattooed bride vibe, and her husband Kyle who looks great in his maroon suit (More maroon suits please!). From Marry Me Ink favourite Ed Godden Photography is their fabulous fifties seaside wedding at The Cliff Hotel.

We met in the local pub at a gig, where Kyle’s friend asked me and my friend to play pool. I accidentally stabbed Kyle in the face with a pool cue and then eventually he asked for my number.. Haha!

The music at our wedding is what was really personal – our ceremony music was a selection of Muse songs, who are one of our favourite bands who we connected over when we first met. Then we went on to have David Bowie, Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac playing throughout the day, including our first dance which was Bowie’s Let’s Dance. We’d always joked about having it as a first dance, so was great to make it a reality.
