A Nerdy Sci-Fi Wedding In Chester – Sarah & James

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you Sarah & James’ Sci-Fi wedding that took place at Soughton Hall in Chester from Fox and Bear Photography. They both met one December over boardgames at Brewdog in Liverpool when Sarah was visiting friends when James’ Stargate tattoo caught her eye. They hit it off immediately and got back together for New Years. “He basically moved in with me on the 1st of January.”

The theme of our wedding was definitely us – we went for a loose space theme and made all the table centrepieces and table plan to reflect this. Each of the tables was named for one of our favourite sci-fi spaceships.

The centrepieces were 3D printed by my friends Andy and Joules, I then hand painted each of them. James made 10 different flavors of savoury and sweet jams as wedding favours for our guests and I also decorated our cake to look like a galaxy. Painting the spaceships was definitely the most rewarding element but each came with their own stresses, James was wise and got all of his Jams done well in advance. I think I finished the last spaceship a couple of days before the wedding!

I was sure I wanted my tattoos to be visible so all sleeves were off the table. I liked the rockabilly element of a tea length dress as well as I thought it worked well with the tattoos so I had quite a clear vision going into the search.

A Magical Disney Themed Yorkshire Wedding – Emma & Andy

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you Emma and Andy’s Disney themed wedding from Nik Bryant Photography that took place at Waterton Park Hotel in Yorkshire.

We got engaged in Walt Disney World so I really wanted to have some Disney at our wedding. As you would be able to see from our photos, we had a subtle Disney theme focusing more on the key themes of certain films rather than having lots of the characters on show.

Myself and Andy both did all the design aspects of our wedding. We designed all our centrepieces and created them all ourselves with the help of Val who dressed our wedding venue for us. Andy designed our seating plan for the wedding breakfast and did an awful lot of the legwork with talking to suppliers about table and place names as well. He did such a brilliant job.

A Lancashire Mill Wedding With A Harry Potter Theme – Marry Me Ink Got Married!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! As I start 2019 as Mrs Whittaker, how better to start of Marry Me Ink’s year than to share Rob & I’s rustic Holmes Mill wedding from October of last year – The perfect time of year for a Harry Potter themed wedding! Our great friends Jaye and Matt of Tux & Tales Photography had the photos and video trailer all ready for us before Christmas and I’ve been dying to share them with you!

We chose to get married at Holmes Mill as it was a lovely new venue when we visited and they had so much still to add to it which, when it came to the wedding day, was perfect for everyone – There was a hotel and bistro on site as well as an amazing food hall (not to mention the ice cream shop) and there are still more exciting things to be added yet (a cinema and spa to name a few)!

Knowing all the northern suppliers pretty well through Marry Me Ink, it was a no-brainer who to have involved in our special day. The supplier friends we had involved with our special day included Paragon Floral Design and Andy Murphy DJ to name a few.

There was plenty of DIY attributes to our wedding decoration which, at the time, I got tired of doing – but in the end I think they looked great. To fit with our Harry Potter theme, I made the winged keys for the place names and Rob melted and moulded the chocolate frogs (when he wasn’t eating them!) The final week up to the wedding I had my mum and sisters helping me put together over 80 chocolate frog boxes – We must have tried every kind of adhesive (Gorilla Glue worked best!) and we finally finished them all the night before, complete with Harry Potter themed temporary tattoos from Doris Loves.

A Rustic Barn Wedding With 1920s Glamour – Stacey & Tom

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you Stacey and Tom’s gorgeous Twenties style wedding from Media Art Studio at Craven Arms Cruck Barn in the Yorkshire Dales which is super cute for your wedding celebrations!

Tom and I met from worked together and it was love at first sight (Well maybe from Tom). Each part of our wedding day was a true reflection of who we are as a couple – Effortless, fuss-free, cool and a little badass!

I got my wedding dress from Phase Eight – I knew the style of dress I wanted. It was the one and only dress I tried on, and I fell in love with it straight away.

As for DIY, we went for all things rustic for our wedding including wedding jars and a luggage tag seating plan – It’s was the best day of our lives so far and I finally got to marry my best friend.
