The Theatrical & Tattooed Collaborative Bridal Shoot *Sneak Peek* – Lyceum Theatre, Crewe

MMI Shoot (24 of 50)

Good morning! I’m SO excited to be sharing this amazing tattooed shoot with you that I helped create in January with Tux and Tales Photography, LND Events and Edith & Winston Bridalwear. Crewe’s Lyceum Theatre helped create the theatrical backdrop we were going for to show off out stunning models – Georgina of Fuller Figure Fuller Bust and Nancy of Sugar, Darling?

On the day we had the fabulous beauty duo of Kerry Baker: Make-up Artist and Wedlocks Bridal Hair Specialist who did a wonderful job of keeping our lipstick and hair curls on point.

As well as LND Events, we had a great team including Roses and China, Mani’s Creative Services, Paragon Floral Design and Sally Jane Cake Design to help create a glittering venue.

The Ballet Bride – A Woolly Bridal Shoot On The Misty Moors

Tux & Tales Photography_9372

Marry Me Ink loves everything from Tux & Tales Photography – So when Jaye and Matt asked me if they could borrow my African Pygmy Hedgehog Alfred for a ballerina bridal shoot, I just had to let him be part of it!

Tux & Tales Photography_9249Yep – That’s Alfred!

The shoot took place last March on the misty moors of East Yorkshire at Danby Castle – Esk Valley Weddings. With real-life couple Gemma and Matt and pastel pretty Diablo Rose, they all look so beautiful in their wooly jumpers, tulle skirts and the finely loomed wool wedding dress from Makepiece in Hebden Bridge.

With styling from Rosy Apple Creations and gorgeous flowers from Firenza Floral Design, Danby Castle looked absolutely breathtaking. I had the chance to speak to Jaye of Tux & Tales Photography about her creating this bridal inspiration shoot.

The theme of the shoot was wool, tulle & wood – a sumptuous and eclectic mix of earthy and tactile sensations. Each element represented something personal that I love – be it knitting, animals or dance. When we work to style a shoot we are always reaching to do something just a little bit different – to show brides that they really can make their wedding as personal and as unique as they want it to be.

An Art Filled, Peak District Wedding – Laura & Gary

MMI_3347

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you this amazing tattooed bride and groom from Yorkshire alternative wedding photographers Tux & Tales.. Laura and Gary’s had a Peak District wedding at Cubley Hall. Both of them are art orientated (Gary being a fab tattooist) and Laura designed all of their stationery.

MMI_3294

We first met back in 2006 when my friend introduced us and Gary (Brownie) did my first ever tattoo. We didn’t cross paths again until 2008 when I came to Sheffield to study Graphic Design at University. We arranged our first date and have been together ever since! It was like we had known each other for years.

We wanted to try and hand make as much at our wedding as possible, which was really hard but with us both being creative people it felt important to add our own personal touches. I had little mini easels for the table numbers to show our artistic side. The Tea light holders and bunting were made by my amazing Grandma and Mum. I designed and hand printed all the invites and stationery including the signs and table plan. And for favours, my Mum made baileys flavoured cupcakes for everyone.

A Tea Party At The Water Fall – Rachel & Neil

Today I get to share with you Rachel and Neil’s beautiful Keswick, Lake District wedding from Jaye and Matt of Tux & Tales Photography. Taking place at the Derwentwater youth hostel which all of their friends and family managed to decorate beautifully just the night before!

We tried to avoid doing certain things just for the sake of it, and only included things that we actually really wanted. A lot of people commented on how laidback the day felt, and I think we did pretty well to create a day that reflected us as a couple – we’re not perfect, we are messy, a bit chaotic, we make ridiculous plans, we’re often late, but things always seem to turn out in the end. That’s what it’s all about isn’t it?

Our main aim was to make it a fun and chilled out day for our guests, with less of the usual formality. Not having the restrictions of the legal ceremony (we had a quickie registry office do with just witnesses the day before) meant that we could pretty much do whatever we wanted, so that’s exactly what we did! We started with a tea-party and cake contest so that we could spend some time with our guests before the ceremony, and we were dead set on getting married outside with one of our friends doing the honours – the waterfall in the grounds of the hostel was just a lucky find! We didn’t want any of our guests to feel forced into doing things they don’t enjoy, or to be bored, so we used all of the rooms available in the hostel to create little areas for people to chill out and chat, play games, as well as the usual drinking and dancing. And we threw in a bouncy castle for good measure. Because who doesn’t love a bouncy castle??

Rachel said that she loved making the DIY elements for the wedding to create a larger version of their own living room (Neil call it the  “Rach-Fest”), as Rachel chose the majority of the décor for the day and got stuck in.. and got very close to covering everything in gem stones!
