A Hard Rock Hotel, Las Vegas Wedding – Tabitha & Eric

T&E-177

Today on Marry Me Ink, tattooed bride Tabitha and husband Eric had a retro feel to their wedding that took place at the House of Blues, Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. From Las Vegas wedding Photographer Jamie Y Phography – Tabitha and Eric went on to celebrate at their wedding after-party at The Bourban Room at The Venetian.

T&E-231

We met online on Hot or Not, an online dating site that you rate each others pictures (Before the days of Tinder!) – Back in the old days of MSN we decided to start chatting on there, we chatted for a couple of weeks and originally planned on just staying friends. He was an army boy who lived 9 hours away from me, but after getting along so well we decided on a mutual half way meeting place which was Barrie Ontario. We spent a weekend together and had an instant connection – He had me at Wendy’s burgers at 1am! 10 years later and one year married, dropping my life for some army boy was the best choice I could have made!

T&E-200

We are big into being relaxed and having fun and we love music! Our ceremony took place outdoors in a garden setting, Our choice of restaurant was The House of Blues which was a laid back music venue with a good selection of normal foods, not that fancy stuff no one can pronounce and the afterparty was at The Bourban Room, the announcer is dressed as an 80’s hairband guy, and they play old rock and roll. The style I went for myself and my bridesmaids was rockabilly/pinup, which is something I am very into and have always admired. From the laid back outdoor ceremony, to the relaxed dinner for 15 and afterparty hearing nothing but rock and roll, all those things represented us to a T.

A Vegas Wedding With Elvis! Emma & Wayne [Tattooed Bride Blog]

Why yes Sir it is.. ELVIS!!! When Emma contacted me about their Vegas wedding, I was greatly excited.. THEN she told me that Elvis officiated the ceremony.. I squealed!
Emma has been a devoted reader to Marry Me Ink and I’m so pleased that I get to feature her fabulous Vegas wedding on Marry Me Ink today! I’m just going to hand straight over to Emma!

We met because I actually dated one of my husband’s friends!  It was only a month-long, not serious relationship, but I was wary of dating Wayne because I thought it would be weird and inappropriate.   He chased me around and persistently asking me out for over a month before I finally said yes.  We went and saw Turbo Negro for our first date!

We were engaged for just 4 months!  I received a beautiful diamond cluster ring on Christmas Eve and we were married at the beginning of April.
We were going to Vegas with some friends for the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly weekend and as we didn’t want a huge wedding or a big fuss,Vegas seemed ideal.
Plus we are both Elvis fans and were really excited at the idea of an Elvis wedding.

Our ‘Elvis’was brilliant- he did an amazing job! We wanted to spend our wedding day alone together. After the ceremony, we went back to Treasure Island (where we were staying) , splurged on a HUGE expensive dinner, then bought matching pirate pyjamas from the gift shop and spent our first night as Mr & Mrs wearing them, eating amazing chocolate room service cake!

This time I wanted to do things properly, to have a white dress and something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue. I looked at probably a hundred dresses before realising I would never find exactly what I wanted, before my amazing friend Suzanne of Suzee666 Fashions stepped in and saved the day!  She custom-made an amazing dress from scratch, loosely inspired by a Deadly Dames one I’d seen online.

I couldn’t find shoes over here that were exactly right either so I ended up getting my best friend in the UK pick some up for me!  I had a brief vacation there right before the Wedding to collect them and also got to shop for Wedding undies and a wrap there with my Mummy, who I hadn’t seen for 3 years!

My girlfriends and I had a craft night to make my hair fascinator (the base of which was actually a bargain bin flower from Claire’s Accessories!) but sadly we are mostly all very untalented and ended up mostly gluing ourselves together and eating cake.  Fortunately I have one friend who is gifted in such areas- she has an adorable Etsy Shop Everybody’s Darling and custom makes hair pieces from vintage & reclaimed materials.  She  created a beautiful fascinator for me while the rest of us giggled and fired the glue gun at each other.  It was wonderful to have so many people I love be so involved in my outfit.

My OLD was a vintage rose coral necklace which my Aunt passed along to me when I was born.
New was my amazing dress and Dorothy shoes 😉
Borrowed: A gorgeous coral rose pin that my grandmother gave to my mother, who kindly lent it to me.
Blue: A pretty little faux pearl bracelet with blue skulls I found on etsy.  My sheer chance also, the Viva Las Vegas entry wristband (which I couldn’t take off as we were going back there after the wedding) was also blue!

My son is named Braeden, hence the large tattoo on my upper arm.  I also have his birthday tattooed on my upper knuckles and ‘Bumbafast’ (which is a word he made up when he was 2 but wouldn’t tell anybody what it meant!) on my right foot.  I have my mother’s name in the ditch of one arm and my father’s in the other. The compass on the back of my hand points SW with a tiny 17- SW17 is the postal code for the part of London I grew up in. Oh, and I have tattoos of my two favourite movies- Beetle Juice & Little Shop of Horrors

As for couple/wedding tattoos, I just had my first sitting for one last week!  Zombie versions of Elvis, my hubby and I from one of our wedding photos with an archway of red roses (which were my wedding flowers).

Aren’t they AMAZING! I do love a Vegas wedding! Do leave the lovely couple some love – Emma and Wayne are a great couple! (Photos were taken by family, themselves and the chapel photographer.)

An Urban, Yet Cute Engagement Shoot [Tattooed Bride Blog]

Good morning! I hope you are enjoying the week so far? It’s all busy here with gorgeous things coming in and new exciting weekly features happening! (To be announced next week!)

Today, I bring you Phil & Kim, photographed by the wonderful Craig Dearsley(Who is married to the lovely Veronica Dearly who I’ve previously featured here)

“We met doing something we both love, festivals! After attending years of the same festivals we found were both avid regulars on the Reading Festival forum and got involved in working the festival. We first met at a Halloween party hosted by one of the organisers. That’s where it all started, following that we had the difficult task of a long distance relationship, with him being from Kent and me from Reading.

” We spent every weekend together and all week on the phone, eventually he got a job in Reading and we haven’t looked back since!  We decided to have a mega trip in America a couple of years ago, we spent nearly 4 weeks driving around Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Yosemite National Park, San Francisco and all the way down the coast to Los Angeles and San Diego. That trip really influenced our falling in love with Las Vegas, once Phil proposed we knew that Vegas was the place for us to exchange our vows, It completely suits our personalities and requirements for a wedding!

“We regularly have ‘date nights’ and depending on pennies it can just be a cosy night in. Phil took this opportunity to cook for me (something he never does!) and we sat and watched a movie – Life As We Know It. Afterwards I suggested we go upstairs for some loving but he suggested we tidied up first (what has got into this guy?!)
He gave me the DVD box and as I pressed eject the disk came out with the words “Will you marry me?” written on the disk. I froze on the spot as our date night had fallen on April Fools Day, I was in shock and confusion on whether it was a prank, but when I finally turned to look at him he was sat there grinning holding out a ring.

“I only have three tattoos and to be honest they are pretty well covered. My main being on my lower back so would be covered up by my dress. The other two are on my feet/ankle, and I would happily show them off. I have been contemplating getting a shoulder piece before the wedding next year but it will depend on our savings!

“We don’t have any wedding/couples tattoos however we are planning on getting inked when we are in Vegas. It’s less about each others names or the date of the wedding but more about our experience of getting married and Vegas as a destination.”

How amazing is Phil and Kim’s story! So amazing and such an awesome engagement shoot! Don’t forget to leave them some love and a huge thanks to Craig Dearsley and Phil and Kim for sharing their photos and stories with us!

It All Started With A Trade Of Tattoos [Tattooed Bride Blog]

Today on Marry Me Ink, I bring you a gorgeous retro couple who were hitched in Vegas!

Nick and Rachel are both tattoo artists and decided to wed in Vegas for three reasons: It was quick, painless and most of all – FUN! If anyone wanted to come, they could and those who missed out, got to watch it live online from the comfort of their own homes! (What a fantastic idea!)

Nick and I are both tattooists. We both saw each others work online and decided to meet up to swap tattoos. At the time I was apprenticing in Manchester so he drove up to meet me and trade tattoos. We hit it off straight away and went on a real date a week later. It was only long distant for a few months as we got to know each other and when invited to work at Modern Body Art in Birmingham city centre we decided to move into a house there together. He now works in another great shop in Birmingham called ‘Gung Ho’. So the move was a great choice for our careers (and of course our relationship!)

Because we do the same thing, we really get each other. We spend all our time drawing and painting together!

With anybody else I would have to apologise for working all the time.

“The day before Nick proposed, I went to get my knee tattooed by Valerie Vargas at Frith Street in London. He usually comes with me but gave me some excuse that he couldn’t, and I believed him! Little did I know he was going to buy me a ring!
So the next day I was feeling really rough after getting such a painful tattoo. I wasn’t feeling very well and decided to come home early. But he got the guys at work to stall me there as long as possible! Then his friend showed up at the shop with a huge bouquet of flowers, the handbag I had my eye on for months and £20 for a taxi.

So I got the cab home and there was a note stuck to the floor with ‘start here’ from this was a trail of chocolates going around the house with presents of perfume, monkey Sylvanian Families and a Vivienne Westward necklace along the way!
Then when I got to our room there was another note saying ‘now go downstairs’. There he was on one knee with a beautiful Edwardian ring. Of course I said yes!

We were engaged for almost a year. We would of gone a lot sooner if my sister wasn’t pregnant! I wanted to wait until she could come with us (and when a time would be good for her to be away from my new nephew for a few days!)
This was a blessing in disguise, everybody had plenty of time to save up and so we had a great turnout! We had spoken about Vegas before and it just seemed right for us.
We aren’t religious people., so a quick fun wedding was more up our street.

“We both love retro style! I’m into the styling of the 40s-50s and Nicks more 70’s-80s! I think this really comes out in our choice of outfits! But I also think that it worked really well together on the day. We got the best of both worlds by having our cocktail reception at a tiki bar!”

Rachel explained that she tried on a few different styles of dresses before settling on this beautiful gown that compliments her tattoos so well.

I think anything too fussy/frilly wouldn’t work. My tattoos are the decoration!
I was sure Nick was going to see my dress! even though it was in a dress bag we took it on the plane with us and it kept falling off the hanger (And out of the bag!!) Luckily my family where all there to help! Nick even carried it at one point but he assured me he didn’t see it.

After our wedding we went on a road trip with a couple of friends. We traveled to get tattooed by Nicks favourite tattooist. He has a shop in Northern California called Champion ship tattoo, and he’s called Curt Baer. Nick got his throat tattooed and I got some wedding bells! So those are our wedding tattoos (and of course we have the tattoos we traded on the day we met). We defiantly have a few more planned to get together (we have a lot of in jokes!)

And if get getting married wasn’t awesome enough.. Nick also won $5,400 on the a slot machine after the buffet that day! Crazy!

How awesome are Nick & Rachel?!! A HUGE thank you for allowing me to share their amazing wedding with you!

Here’s a bit of advice from Rachel if you’re planning your own wedding:
Do what makes you happy! As long as it’s in budget of course. Don’t feel like you have to please everybody. Its your day after all!
Its easy to get swept up in it all and think you have to do everything everybody is telling you. Just make sure you do what YOU want to make it special.

Do leave them some love , they are one fantastic couple!
