Today I get to introduce to you Red Seven Leisure who have a treasure chest full of ideas for your hen party!
Jessica contacted me after spending a weekend glamping herself and thought it would be great to share her experience with Marry Me Ink readers!
I’ll hand straight over to Jessica!
Although camping has been popular with outdoorsy types for decades, it’s not necessarily been a popular choice for hen party celebrations and this isn’t surprising; the idea of waking up in a cramped tent with a sore back is not exactly appealing. However, add a touch of glamour to the mix and you have glamping; camping with a feminine touch and an ideal hen party experience.
Beautifully created glamping sites offer luxury camping in the way of tepees and yurts with the benefit of home comforts combined with the pleasure of being outside amongst nature. There’s nothing quite like spending a weekend in the great outdoors with your closest friends; it’s a great way of spending real quality time together, as well as enjoying a completely unique experience. The added bonus of glamping over camping is that a lot of these specialised sites have extra activities available from live music to spa therapists, which means you’ll have everything you need for a perfect hen party right on your doorstep (or yurt step!).
Here’s a few of our favourite sites you should consider for an alternative hen party in the UK
Bloomsburys, Kent
This is a great choice for a hen party as you have so much entertainment on site that you can fill a couple of days with memorable experiences. The tepee’s and yurts vary but the most luxurious ones have electric lighting, heating and rugs however, it’s the choice of entertainment on site which makes this one so ideal. On site there’s a hot tub, luxury shower block, beauty salon with therapists, arts and crafts workshops and a live lounge which puts on regular live music gigs!
To top it off, if you don’t fancy cooking round a fire or walking to a local pub, there’s a cafe and restaurant on site serving up delicious local food from morning to evening, as well as a selection of wines, ales and jugs of pimms in the summer. Check out their website here.
Babes in the Woods, Gloucestershire
With a glamping site in Devon and one in the Malverns, the ethos at Babes in the Wood is to get in touch with your wild side whilst still enjoying the joys of luxury. Both locations are set amongst acres of stunning countryside and beautiful woodland offering luxury yurts and Californian domes. The Malverns site is new to 2013 and is an ideal location, especially those coming from Birmingham, London, Cardiff, Bristol or Manchester for a hen weekend.
There’s three all inclusive hen weekend packages to choose from all offering varying itineraries and experiences; White Willow, Silver Birch and Golden Maple. All the packages include welcome tea on arrival, woodland walk to the secret site, yurt or dome accommodation with bedding, champagne introduction, bushcraft workshop and all meals. Then depending on your package or what you’d like to add on there’s yoga, meditation, wild walking, cooking, massages, night time games, stories by the fire and live music to choose from so you’ll never be bored. Check out their packages here.
Cedar Valley, Hampshire
Moving away from yurts and tipis, these amazing luxury safari tents on raised wooden platforms offer the ultimate glamping experience and are fully equipped with a dining area, kitchen with fridge and wood burning stove, bedrooms which sleep up to 6 people, loos and showers so you don’t have to give up any home comforts at all. With a barbeque area and a campfire outside, these are perfect for the summer.
If you’re feeling active then there’s plenty to keep you entertained including horse riding, cycling and clay pigeon shooting; great ways to explore the surrounding countryside too. There’s plenty of pubs within walking distance too so a great idea is to combine a walk with a pub lunch, just go easy on the pints if you want to make it back the way you came! See the safari tents here.
