Today I get to share with you Laura & Bill’s elegant and vintage wedding photographed by the wonderful Inna of Peach Plum Pear Photography. They both met at Bill’s work, a bird store, and it all grew from there.
My Mom would always tell me that she wanted me to meet the “hot guy” that worked at the bird store – “hot guy” being Bill. I finally dropped by the store with her one day in August 2006. I immediately locked eyes with the gorgeous brown haired, blue eyed boy. Of course I was too shy to speak to him, so we ended up chatting online not too long after. It was everything short of romantic, but we still like to revisit that day.
The detail that represented us the best at our wedding was definitely our cake topper. We wanted to incorporate our 3 cats, Steve, Frank and Cole because they are our world. I found a girl from South Korea who makes AMAZING custom cake toppers completely out of clay. She created a cake topper of Bill and I with our fur babies. Everyone absolutely loved it and we now have it on display in our house.
We knew we wanted a shabby-chic inspired wedding. For our table numbers, we found vintage looking picture frames. We hand painted each table number and placed them in the frames. Not only did they look super cute, but we got to reuse the frames around the house.
“The one thing I did not want to do was hide my tattoos on my wedding day. I wanted to embrace my ink and show it off proudly. I love the look of tattoos mixed with elegance.”
We don’t have any couple themed tattoos yet, but we have definitely been thinking about it. There’s always that stigma with getting a tattoo based on your significant other, but I have trust that we can totally beat that.
Oh how awesome are Laura & Bill. Thank you to them both for sharing their wedding day with Marry Me Ink today and to Inna of Peach Plum Pear Photography. Be sure to leave them some love!
