“We kept the traditions we felt passionate about, ditched the ones we felt weren’t as meaningful to us”
Today I get to share with you the cool, stylish and very classy Smog Shoppe wedding of Shannon and Nick from Steve Cowell Photo. I love everything about this wedding from Shannon’s classic dress and flower crown, to their accidental first look.
Nick had curated an art exhibition near where I was living. I walked by, peered in the window, and thought it was interesting enough to have a look. We met, scheduled a studio visit to see my work, and spent a year or so becoming friends. About two weeks into our relationship we went to Cleveland on a whim. That was a trip we will always remember fondly.
The only DIY element we had were our Save The Date cards. The master copy was Sharpie on paper. Easy.
Our accidental first look made for a special surprise moment. Instead of a posed/planned moment, which would have been lovely, Nick popped out of an elevator to find me being photographed on a landing in the lobby of the historic Culver Hotel.
“The primary focus was on a stylish dress, fortunately a few tattoos managed to peek through.”
Isn’t it such a gorgeous wedding? I am in love with everything – the flowers, the forages, the multicoloured streamers.. Ah! It’s all too beautiful! Be sure to leave Shannon, Nick, Steve Cowell Photo and the rest of the suppliers (listed at the end of this post) from the day some love!
