Today, I get to share with you the amazing wedding of tattooed brides Anna and Sarah at East Riddlesden Hall from Shelly of Toast Of Leeds – Marry Me Ink’s first same sex wedding feature!
My favourite thing (apart from the dinosaurs and the pirate ship made from hay bales) are the gorgeous dresses they both wore on their special day. Anna’s is a stunning Ian Stuart dress and Sarah’s is a glittering Jenny Packham dress complete with a blush ostrich feather cape from Ted Baker.
After being talked into the online world by a few friends, Sarah spotted me quite quickly and commented on my tattoo and the conversations began. I of course wanted to meet her and thought long and hard about how I could impress such a beauty, so the pub next door it was. The first time I saw her, she was arguing with a parking attendant – I knew this was the girl for me. I played pool to the highest standard (she beat me) and made her laugh with my wit & charisma (she humoured me). Instantly, I could see how gorgeous this little Lancashire lady was so we continued our courtship exploring and going on adventures and seeing plenty of live music together.
Every single bit of our wedding represented us as a couple – from the relaxed atmosphere, to the dinosaurs, pirate ship, lego men, superheros, sweetie table, hotdogs, ghost hunt and of course lots of pie! We choose the music especially our first dance song which was perfect for us and fun and exciting, not a ballad in sight. (You & I – Crystal Fighters)
We did everything between us. Decorating the venue the day before with the help of family and friends was so much fun. We had a friend make signs, some other friend brought all the bales and my mum made 100metres of bunting. Seeing our guests enjoy the venue and the comments we received about all the details was all worth the amount of effort.
The dress suited my tattoos and my style and couldn’t have been any other. I loved the designer and his style. Sarah had an unfinished back piece that she didn’t want on show.
How awesome does Anna & Sarah’s wedding look? It looks like it was so much fun! Thank you to them both and to Shelly of Toast Of Leeds for sharing with Marry Me Ink today. Be sure to leave them all some love!
