Today I get to share with you the traditional, but fun wedding of Michelle and Martin from Jamie Penfold Photography that took place at the South Causey Inn in Stanley, Durham. I think a wedding taking place in a traditional pub is awesome!
We originally met on the millennium night whilst out celebrating with friends. But due to Martin leaving to go to Germany with his regiment, we agreed it would be better if we parted. Time past we both went our separate ways had long term relationships and children. Years past and I wanted a tattoo and with Martin leaving army after serving, 10 years he become a tattooist. I got a few tattoos done we both were single and almost picked up from where we left off. There was always an unspoken thing we had between us and I feel our story, which I have shortened as much as possible otherwise we’d be on all day, is definitely the finding of true soul mates.
What represented us as couple was everything – All the decisions were made together with no arguments. We work together with everything we are a proper team and helped each other right down to the nitty-gritty stuff. We had stuff that we both like and enjoy. For example, the venue was horse orientated I’m a horse lover and owner. We had a skull cake which represented the tattooing industry and our favours were chocolates which had wrappers that resembled playing cards. (Martin is also a fantastic magician) It was a mixture of everything we are both involved in. We wanted it to be serious as in traditional, but also fun and wanted people to remember the day (hence the cake!)
The highlight of our day… Martin said it was seeing me walking down the aisle looking as beautiful as I did. Mine has to be saying them vows to my soul mate and best friend who I’ve always loved and always will.
