Back in November, Rob and myself had the chance to stay in the gorgeous country house that is Ox Pasture Country House & Hotel in Scarborough and I just had to share our weekend with you!
On arrival, we were greeted with the beautiful greenery and scenery (Idyllic for a garden wedding) and also other couples who were staying along with their furry friends!
One thing I absolutely loved about Ox Pasture Hall was how welcoming the staff were and how easily they were to accommodate everybody. There were families and couples with their dogs who were able to enjoy the hotel and extensive menu and then there was me, the dairy intolerant who is picky about what she eats.
How easily it was for them to accommodate my allergy was one of the best things for me.. This included dairy-free afternoon tea!
Seriously – I think I ate and drank my weight in scones and cups of tea!
After our scrumptious afternoon tea – we were shown to our room (The honeymoon/bridal suite). This came with a large lounge area with great views of the gardens, and HUGE bed (I promise I didn’t jump all over it) and a lovely bathroom for a big bath of bubbles!
This room would be ideal for a bridal party getting ready!
After we let our afternoon tea settle, we got ready to dine at the Courtyard Restaurant where we ate a divine meal!
My meal was so amazing, I want to drive back there tonight to eat it all again. There was so much to choose from – Soup, lamb, apple and pear crumble, I can’t seem to list them all!!.. Because of dairy allergies I received a lovely beetroot salad as a complementary appetiser, and then my chosen chicken roulade for starter and braised pork belly for my main. Just look at it!!..
We couldn’t fit in a dessert! We then went and relaxed by the fire in the pub where I had an Amaretto coffee. The full English breakfast was just as amazing!
After this weekend, we would go back in a heartbeat!
