Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to introduce you to the wonderful girls at Paragon Floral Design who I had the amazing chance of working with earlier on this year at The Lyceum Theatre shoot in Crewe. They have also recently been including in Brides Magazine’s “Pretty List” – From their work, you can totally see why!
We are Paragon Floral Design. Founded by Lisa Holroyd and Kate Whelan, We have worked together for 10 years and decided it was time to branch out by ourselves. We love to work on Weddings and Event florals, our style is detailed and intricate, we love to construct and develop on traditional ideas.
What inspires your work?
EVERYTHING, craftwork, fabrics, architecture, other floral designers, natural architecture in leaves, bone structures, patterns in shells. We love texture and learning new techniques.
What are your favourite brides to work with?
People who are enthusiastic, excited and not ‘lost in the industry’, they are getting married for love and that’s the most important part of the day. Those people are fun, usually laid back and more open to adventure.
What type of styles would you recommend for the tattooed bride?
This depends on the personality of the people, tattoo styles vary as much as fashionable clothes so for a recommendation we say ‘go with your style’ If you are covered in high colour Chinese symbolism then maybe you’d like us to design something bright and detailed to match or muted tones to contrast. Everyone is different… that’s the fun of designing.
We both feel that if either of us were to get married we’d make the ceremony small and intimate. There is no way we could pin down a style because we are constantly coming up with new ideas but, there is no doubt for either of us that the reception would be where we spend the cash. More flowers than you could shake a stick at with great entertainment, a fantastic photographer and the best caterer.
So have any questions for Lisa and Kate? Marry Me Ink will be working with Paragon Floral Design to bring you the best planning advice for your upcoming wedding. You can either leave your questions in a comment below, or email them in to Rachael@marrymeink.co.uk – I look forward to reading them!
