Happy August! It’s my birthday month and we’re onto double digits for our own wedding countdown! How long is it until yours?
Today on Marry Me Ink we have Angela and Anthony’s Arizona elopement from Suzy Goodrick, which included their portraits being taken in a ghost town scrapyard and onto an intimate Italian meal in the evening.
We met each other the good ole fashioned way back in 2010 in a bar called, Tavern on Mill Ave in Tempe, AZ. The highlights of our elopement included our photos in Jerome, AZ – it was definitely a cool experience. Following our swift union we had dinner at a very welcoming Italian restaurant called, Papa’s, where my father brought along his accordion and performed for the entire restaurant.
Our photos represent us best, we’re simple. Anthony has a love for old American iron, so family pictures at an unforgotten resting place of classic cars was an easy way to get him on board. As for myself I wanted cooler weather and tall trees, we got just that and our photos captured it perfectly.
As for DIY elements – my sister Gina made my bouquet and I absolutely loved it. We are having our wedding reception October 2018 in our backyard, so we have been busy reconfiguring our yard to accommodate our family and friends. I’d say stringing 150 feet of lights was our most recent DIY – setting wood posts in the Arizona desert is no easy feat.
My advice to those planning their wedding or elopement would be to go for what you want your special day to be and don’t stress about the small stuff – everything works out. Enjoy the moment.
How awesome is Angela and Anthony’s elopement? I do love their portraits with all the vintage cars. Thank you to them both and to Suzy Goodrick for sharing their day with Marry Me Ink. If you were to elope – Where would you go?
