Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you Emma and Andy’s Disney themed wedding from Nik Bryant Photography that took place at Waterton Park Hotel in Yorkshire.
We got engaged in Walt Disney World so I really wanted to have some Disney at our wedding. As you would be able to see from our photos, we had a subtle Disney theme focusing more on the key themes of certain films rather than having lots of the characters on show.
Myself and Andy both did all the design aspects of our wedding. We designed all our centrepieces and created them all ourselves with the help of Val who dressed our wedding venue for us. Andy designed our seating plan for the wedding breakfast and did an awful lot of the legwork with talking to suppliers about table and place names as well. He did such a brilliant job.
With getting married in September, I was hoping for good weather so I chose a dress that would expose my arms. I was in two minds however as I have a full sleeve on one arm which I absolutely love, but on my other arm I have some horrible stars that I got when I was young and silly at 18. I was in two minds at whether to buy some make up to cover them up as I couldn’t afford to get a large piece done before the wedding to cover them up. My husband talked me out of that idea though and even though I still want to get them covered up I was okay with having them on display in the end. My full sleeve I knew I always wanted to have this on show, I love it.
We both have a swallow on the inside of our wrist which is our couple tattoo that we have. We do both want to get a wedding/honeymoon themed tattoo but we are still trying to decide on a design.
Don’t be ashamed of your tattoos, get them out on show for the world to see. I felt so comfortable having mine out on show and I would not want it any other way. Looking back on our wedding photos both our tattoos look brilliant and it adds another element to our photos. In terms of planning your wedding, our advice would be to do exactly what you want and invite who you want. It is your day after all, don’t be forced into making any decisions you’ll regret, it is a day for the two of you to enjoy and look back on and think “That was the best day of my life”.
How great does Emma and Andy’s wedding look? I do love all of the Disney details on the tables – Make sure you check out their gallery from Nik Bryant Photography below to see them all!
