A Wedmore Place Styled Elopement Shoot

tiltawhirlimagery-alternative_bride_photographer-1111

Today I get to share a tattooed bride styled shoot that’s a bit different to what I’ve already featured on Marry Me Ink before. From Tiltawhirl Imagery, I bring you the tattooed bride elopement!

Our styled shoot began as a desire to show brides there were options

Wedmore Place is a European-inspired hotel on the grounds of the Williamsburg Winery. Every bit of a wedding can be customized so that you can be true to yourself. Don’t want to wear white… Don’t! Don’t want to carry a bouquet… Don’t! Want to elope… Do it! (But still hire a photographer!) We were also inspired by the hotel’s European flavorings and the open and inviting atmosphere of a smaller hotel, where people you have never met welcome you with open arms and invite you into their gatherings.

As with all of our shoots, we had a cinematic approach complete with storyline…

Once upon a time…

Having met while traveling the world, Henry and Antigone grew closer together with each and every passport stamp they collected. Realizing they soon would part ways and head to different lives in different countries, Henry asked for Antigone’s hand in marriage. Never wanting to have a single moment apart, the couple knew their elopement would be the start of their greatest adventure. The couple remembered a brochure they’d found in a small town a few stops back that would make for the perfect place to exchange vows. Arrangements were made and they set off. As soon as they saw the picturesque drive and the hotel that looked like a quaint castle nestled deep in wine vineyards, they knew this was a place they’d revisit over and over in their minds eye.

Candy Coloured Sweetness & Smoke Bombs

MMI_4072

When Lexi of Fleming Photography and Rockabetty Studios emailed me with the title “Smoke Bombs Ahoy!” I knew I was in for something amazing! Lexi teamed up with the wonderful Louise of Oh My Honey to create a cute but punked-out bridal shoot with real-life couple Seye and Lucy.

When Louise from Oh My Honey and I both emailed each other the same day asking to collaborate on a styled shoot, I knew the outcome was going to be special! Louise and I met years ago when she first launched her bridal range and I worked with her with my studio company Rockabetty Studios. I am absolutely in love with Oh My Honey dresses and jump at the chance to work with Louise any day of the week! We wanted to vamp up her pretty 50s bridal dresses and that’s where Lucy and Seye from South East London stepped in!

I love alternative, non-traditional couples who are up for a real laugh on their wedding day, so when Seye and Lucy came forward to be our real couple for the shoot, I was so excited! There is nothing easier than photographing real couples in love. You could not only see the love, but the immense fun they both have with each other. Lucy has an incredible amount of work for a number of amazing London tattoo artists and Seye himself has collected pieces from all round the World too. Lucy looked amazing in Louise’s dresses and shows that alternative brides look wicked awesome too!

Smoke bombs was one of the first things I said when we knew we were going to be together a collaboration shoot and lucky for me, everyone was on board! I had never worked with them before, but Seye and Lucy were well up for some unpredictable fun.

Dia De Los Muertos – The Mexican Bridal Party

IMG_1833a

There’s nothing I love more than a colourful bridal party. Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you these gorgeous Dia Do Los Muertos brides from Lisa Gigante Photography who wanted to create something colourful and unique for her latest shoot.

IMG_1252

The reasoning for this shoot is the fact I never get a chance, unfortunately, to shoot a wedding that would be classed as ‘really off the wall’ and so I thought I’d break the mould (I did a steampunk themed bridal shoot last year) and have a bit of fun, still bridal but with the colours of the Mexican Dia de los Muertos theme. I love the colours.

The flowers and the look of the face painting.. Its amazing and the suppliers I asked were very excited to be involved. To the point the lady that supplied the silk flower head pieces was thrilled to be able  to make something a bit ‘different’ for a change.

The dress designer I used last year in the steampunk shoot, made my wedding dress too (which is featured being worn by one of the models!). So aims and inspirations is purely to show another side of bridal… a bit of fun and some raging colours outside of the usual ivories and cremes that we are still seeing at the moment.

A Colourful, Woodland Trash The Dress Shoot

browsholme-hall-trash-the-dress-wedding-photographer_0019

Amanda decided even before the wedding that she was going to do a colourful trash the dress shoot! Zoe of ZT Photography sent me the shoot over and I loved it straight away! What isn’t there to love about copious amounts of paint and smoke bombs?!

browsholme-hall-trash-the-dress-wedding-photographer_0011

When we photographed Amanda’s wedding last summer, she had already informed me she was planning on doing a Trash the Dress shoot afterwards. Words we rarely hear before the wedding takes place but we were so glad we did! Amanda was up for any ideas, so what better than to go all out with our concepts and get involved with water, coloured flares, paint and our fave…levitation! Yes!

We’ve done a shoot at Browsholme & Tithe Barn before, it’s a fantastic wedding venue…so were thrilled when let us use their beautiful grounds and lake again.
