I love everything about this shoot, the feel of the relaxing day, the colours of Autumn, Morgan’s awesome tattoos and so much more! The story of how Morgan and Max met each other is great..

It was graduation weekend at UMass Amherst, where I am currently attending for my master’s degree. That Friday night a few friends and I decided to go out to a bar that we frequent called McMurphy’s. While standing there amidst conversation I noticed two guys looking at me from across the bar. Out of curiosity, I approached them. They introduced themselves as Max and Nick and said they were brothers. We had a few drinks, some interesting conversation; they complemented me on my tattoos, by this time the bar was getting ready to close so we finished our drinks and made our way to the door. Upon leaving the bar Max made a comment to me about how he really liked how strong and confident I was and that he hoped he could see me again.

Amanda’s Antics – The Tattooed Bride Journal Part Two

Hello again everyone. Sorry this post is coming a little late. I started a new role at work and April has been a bit of a blur! The only thing I can think is “AHHH! I am getting married in like 5 months and have so much to do!” – It really is true when they say time flies. During this next post I wanted to take some time to talk about a few things I created after picking out our wedding party.

[1] Building my wedding planner

It seems like before you are engaged – you thought you have it all down if it were to happen. You feel that you could get married tomorrow because you are ready with a plan. Same went for me. My Pinterest board was ready to go, filled with extravagant ideas and steps on “what to do once you’re engaged”. What you don’t realize is how much organizing and attention to detail it really takes to execute on an idea. I know that if I want my wedding to go smoothly and exactly how I want, staying organized will be crucial.  It is one thing to have an inspiration board (thank you Pinterest) and another to have a detailed, month to month plan of what needs to be done. I highly recommend either purchasing a wedding planner or making your own. I looked around the bookstore and online but could not find anything that I really liked so I decided to make my own.

The template I used can be found here

What I liked about creating my own wedding planner, was that it allowed me to pick and choose what was relevant for our wedding. It also provided great timelines, budget worksheets and little things you don’t even consider thinking of. The printables she provided are so great!

Love Letters – With True Grit & Amazing Grace

Aisling&Jeremiah_engagement_IMG_0149

Today I get to share with you the most beautiful story of Aisling and Jeremiah’s engagement, alongside the stunning photography of Natalie J Weddings

Aisling&Jeremiah_engagement_IMG_0379

We met in Vancouver, Canada. I had been living there for nearly a year and Jeremiah there for 3 years.

We met in a bar that I worked in Gastown called the The Metropole Pub “The Met”. Jeremiah would come in after work for a drink or he would come down on his days off with a group of mates for $2 Tuesdays. He and his mates drank a lot of $2 beers, they always tipped the best and the politest customers.

One night someone had had too many $2 beers and a fight had broken out (a regular occurrence at The Met), somehow this time Jeremiah and his mates had got dragged into it and onto the street, Jeremiah’s jacket got left behind and through the chaos I managed to find him and give it back. That was it that was “the moment”.

I was intrigued by Jeremiah, he was a big presence, always well dressed with tattoo’s and slick back hair, he was quiet and polite. We talked on Facebook and arranged to go to the movies.. The closer the date got, the more nervous I became.

A couple of nights before our date, I was out with some friends for a birthday and after a few too many drinks and new found courage I called Jeremiah and told him we had to meet right now and he obliged. Being the true gentleman he is , he looked after me gave me water and we talked all night, we were barely apart from that moment on.

After a few months of being together and doing everything together, my Canadian visa was expiring and I had to go back to England. For us to be together, Jeremiah had to return home to Australia to work and to save. This was a very difficult time for us being worlds apart and both leaving behind friends and the city we loved so much, but after a few months I was granted my Australian Visa and Jeremiah had paid for my flights. I shortly after arrived in Australia where Jeremiah has become the Grit to my Grace and we have began a wonderful new life together with our trusty sidekick and puppy dog Mr Bugsy.

After two years of living in Australia, we took a trip back to the U.K to introduce Jeremiah to my family (and little did in know, for Jeremiah to ask my dad for his blessing). We spent two weeks in the UK before doing a mini Euro Trip starting in Spain to see my bothers. From La Manga we drove the coast to Barcelona and then we flew to Nice. On the top of Montee Du Chateau over looking the most beautiful view of nice, Jeremiah told me he loved me as I was devouring the juiciest peach of my life I nodded with a approval. And then out of the blue he got down on one knee.. Through tears and beaming smile, (and a mouth full of peach) I said yes.

Two Worlds Apart – A Time Lapse Engagement Shoot

MMI_0379

I’ve been so excited about sharing this styled engagement shoot with you from Lizzie of Do It Momma.

MMI_0375

When speaking to Lizzie, the main concept of the shoot was to create a story using two models (Lottie and Henry) who were shot on two different days but in the same location, to create the image of the boy following the girl until he finally caught up with her.

MMI_0368

The shoot was actually inspired by Lottie.  She has a very dramatic look and after seeing her with lace eye transfers on at a social event I knew I wanted to photograph her in a way that would allow me to experiment with more dramatic editing.

MMI_0350

Lottie alone is striking and gave me so much to play with but as a wedding photographer I always wanted to partner her up!  It’s good to call on friends and Henry served as the perfect accompaniment.
