Gifts For The Guys – Jack Daniels

With just a year to go until our big day (I know, right?! It’s coming around so quickly), I’ve been looking into gifts for our bridesmaids and groomsmen to say thank you for all the group chats they’re having to put up with about dresses, suits and hotel stays for the wedding.

One type of gift I’ve been looking into is one that can be personalised (and alcoholic to calm themselves once the wedding is over!). Rob and one of his groomsmen loves Jack Daniels and is a common and easiest present to gift either of them when Christmas and birthdays come around.

Now, Jack Daniels have different batches at their distillery and I’ve sampled a couple myself – the one they gifted me with in their hamper was their Single Barrel Select.

“Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel is finely crafted from one specially selected barrel at the Jack Daniel’s Distillery. Not just any Jack Daniel’s Barrel is granted the status of Single Barrel – with only one out of every 100 barrels being hand-selected by the Jack Daniel’s Master Tasting Panel having met the standard. Sent to mature in the highest reaches of the barrelhouse, the extremes in temperature across the seasons creates the bold and robust flavours of the whiskey inside.

With every individual bottle imparting its own exclusive taste, each is hand-labelled and marked with a unique rick number and bottling date.

Single Barrel Select offers a distinctive, full-bodied taste with notes of vanilla, toasted oak and caramel. Harbouring less sweetness and more power than the original Old No.7, the Single Barrel Select offers a much richer variation. With no two barrels producing the same whiskey, Jack Daniel’s delivers a one-of-a-kind gift.”

Thanks to Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel, picking a gift for your groomsmen (or bridesmaid if they’re a Whiskey fan!) is one less thing to worry about! As well as being able to purchase such a one-of-a-kind flavoursome spirit, they can also help by personalising the bottle at the Jack Daniel’s Store.

I’m looking forward to opening this bottle and making myself a Whiskey Sour – What’s your favourite way to drink Whiskey?

Rubies, Opals & Diamonds – Art Deco Rings from Browns Family Jewellers

For those who don’t know, I’m currently in the stages of planning my own wedding for 2018. The major stuff is all covered (Venue, dress, photographer, flowers etc.) and with just over 12 months to go until the big day, I’ve started looking at unique wedding rings. Rob proposed last year whilst we were on holiday in Rhodes with a beautiful vintage ring with rubies and diamonds that he purchased of Etsy. I’ve been looking into vintage looking rings to compliment it and I cam across Browns Family Jewellers – A high street jewellers in Yorkshire who have over 25 years in the industry. They specialise is pre-owned and vintage jewellery which is perfect for what I’m looking for. If you’re looking for your own vintage or art deco engagement ring – here are a few of my favourites:

18CT WHITE GOLD DIAMOND DRESS RING

This stunning 18ct white gold 0.55ct diamond dress ring has a gorgeous Art Deco design set with bright white diamonds – I love the shapes and setting of them.

DIAMOND & OPAL CLUSTER RING

The ring features an oval cut opal claw set to the centre surrounded by bright white, brilliant cut diamonds set within the elevated pierced decorated ring setting. Opals has a wonderful play on colour that captures the light perfectly when worn.

DIAMOND AND RUBY CLUSTER RING

The vibrant reddy pink hue of this ruby is offset fantastically by the impressive brilliant cut diamonds – I am in love with the diamonds on the shoulders of this ring.  Continue reading

A Rock & Roll Bridal Shoot Up North – The Bridal Emporium

Tim Dunk Photography

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you this epic bridal shoot complete with Yorkshire elements along with the rock and roll edge. Styled by The Bridal Emporium – A Leeds based bridal shop celebrating all the wonderful British designers that bring you all your glamorous vintage and boho bridal style gowns and Yorkshire Menswear providing the slick suits for the groom.

Owner of The Bridal Emporium in Leeds, Claire Amelia, is thrilled to show off the latest pictures from the rock’n’roll wedding photo-shoot that was set at New Craven Hall in April, 2017. Embracing a very Northern theme, the set was filled with elements of a rustic-nature feel, along with a typical feature of the Yorkshire greetings ‘Ey Up’.

The suppliers brought out the best of British with a number of Northern based participants. Including Tim Dunk, the wonderful photographer who oozes an immense amount of coolness within each frame, making the venue, New Craven Hall in Leeds, shine with an edgy retro feel. The chosen venue is a new industrial space, providing a trendy and blank area, perfect for pimping out to fit to any desired theme! An added touch of punk really aims to appeal to the tattoo market, along with the two models that were specifically chosen to compliment the Yorkshire rock look of the whole photo-shoot.

The models were fashioned with a simple, boho inspired style and the dresses were supplied by the amazing wedding dress designer, Eliza Jane Howell. The gowns fitted perfectly with the boho/vintage look, with sequined details that contrasted and added a softer detail to the whole setting. The accessories were provided by ourselves at The Bridal Emporium, gorgeous floral head wear and white punk heels complimented the female models, Kellie, body art. Byron, the male model, was styled with a more austere look to emphasise on the wedding gowns. The very talented make-up artist, Amanda, from Lipstick and Curls opted for deep purple-red lips which paired well with natural toned eyes.

A Very 50s Rockabilly Shoot – Tiger Lily Bus Company

As the end of August is drawing near, I thought it would be fab to brighten up your day with this gorgeous Rockabilly shoot from Fleming Photo and Tiger Lily Bus Company that took place at Gate Street Barn.

Lex was first contacted by Marsh and Gwenda about the shoot – I knew I was going to be on board. Having worked with them both before, I knew we were all roughly coming from the same idea. Then I was shown Tiger Lily the bus and instantly I could see it all come together. Coming from a very relaxed, non-traditional approach in how I shoot weddings, it was exciting to plan a style shoot round a bus!

Instead of overly posing the models, I got them to play games, tell jokes and generally have a laugh; something that really suited the overall look we were going for. My favourite part of the day however was getting Molly, our bride for the day, to feed a baby calf in her pink ombre Oh My Honey dress!

Gwenda of The Vintage Floral Design Company and The Vintage Floral Design Studio:
“I met Marsha early on in my wedding industry career and I was so excited by her latest venture with the fabulous Tiger Lily! I instantly envisaged a bold and beautiful colour scheme, the epitome of Summer with a hint of the exotic. Florally, for the bouquet I combined lilies (naturally!) with alstromeria (also know as Peruvian lilies) and some epic protea and some statement phoenix palm
leaves. The buttonhole featured some Blushing Bride mini-protea and a lily bud. On the bus, I combined lilies in our key colours of pink, orange and yellow all along the rails on the ceiling. The table decor includes small arrangements of the key bouquet elements. For the stationery, I again reflected the three main colours and the key motif – more lilies!”

Marsha of the Tiger Lily Bus Company:
“Tiger Lily is the real deal. Born in 1954 with beautiful curved roof windows flooding the inside with natural light. Sympathetically restored to keep her vintage feel. Now beautifully transformed to serve English Bubbly and cocktails. The perfect unique addition to any outdoor wedding to get the party started from reception drinks on arrival and all through the evening. This really is a bus like no other!”
