Happy Valentines Day! How are you spending time with your loved one today? Whilst love is all around today, I thought I’d share this fun infographic from Simply Bridal about kissing. Did you know that kissing helps your brain release calming neurotransmitters?

There’s nothing more special than the first kiss as a newly married couple. Whether you’re going for a quick brush of the lips or going all in (Like my friends Dan & Rach did in the image above). Make it special!

A DIY, Psychobilly Wedding With 1000 Paper Flowers – Steph & Adam

2014-01-19_0205

That’s right – as well as hand crafting all their place mats out of vintage records, Steph & Adam created approximately 1000 roses out of pieces of music sheets.

“It was music that brought us together and shaped our relationship so we tried to work music into every detail we could. We handmade as much as we could to fit the theme.”

Steph and Adam were married at The Riveria Hotel at Bowleaze Cove in Weymouth with wonderful photography from Linus Moran. Steph beautifully did her own hair and make up and wore a gorgeous Lusan Mandongus dress and Adam wore a sharp Victor Valentine suit.

Adam and I met through mutual friends who were looking to form a Psychobilly band. Adam played double bass and I sang so we both joined. Although the band was together for several months before we started dating we got along well from the start. It was a long walk up a hill back to Adams house and he wasn’t keen to lug his double bass on his back. Luckily I was the only person in the band with a car big enough to fit the bass in- so naturally I offered to take him to and from practice. It was during these car journeys that our mutual love of a fairly obscure genre of music brought us closer together. The band only did a few gigs before splitting, but we both got what we wanted from it!

A Sponza Palace, Dubrovnik Croatia Wedding – Tara & Tim

2014-01-13_0003

“We wanted a small wedding so we could spend the time and money with the people that were most important to us, our close friend and family.”

Today I get to share with you the gorgeous destination wedding from Dubrovnik Riviera Weddings of Tara & Tim. Tara wore a beautiful dress from The Couture Company – Designer Wedding Gowns who are based at The Custard Factory in Birmingham.

The wedding took place at Sponza Palace in Dubrovnik Riviera in Croatia. Tara & Tim wanted to get married away from home as they love to travel and Dubrovnik had everything – the perfect venue, a holiday destination for our guests and the old town architecture for a beautiful wedding setting.

We did not want a completely traditional wedding, and wanted to show our personalities. I did not want flowers and found a gorgeous peacock feather bouquet which I loved and can keep forever! We both love the vintage 50s style and we took this into account when choosing our outfits and style for the day.

2014-01-13_0005

We made our own CDs for our ceremony music and for our Boat cruise drinks reception. I did my own hair and makeup which meant I could create the perfect Vintage style I love. There were a few personal touches that made the wedding including a peacock brooch found at a craft market in Krakow on my Hen weekend for the belt of my dress and hand written labels attached to Olive oil and Liquor bottles as name place settings. For our reception at home I made lace covered jam jar candle holders and sourced vintage vases to hold peacock feathers. Also a small suitcase and bunting instead of a post box to hold our cards.
