A Muddy, Enchanting DIY Wedding – Mariah & Nathan

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you Mariah and Nathan’s DIY wedding from Miss Lyss Photography that took place at her family’s house. It rained the whole day and their idea of an outdoor wedding quickly became a muddy one.

If you want me to be honest, the whole day was the highlight of the wedding for me. I really didn’t think it was going to turn out as well as it did because it was pouring for the whole day and we had the wedding in a tent at my grandparents’ house and it was just so freaking muddy out there. We had to improvise for a lot of stuff last minute. So many people helped in making it special and moving stuff around to accommodate the rain. From start to finish it was the best day ever. I am so thankful for everyone and how much was put into it.

The entire wedding was basically done by the family DIY style. I think the only real thing we didn’t DIY was the DJ and the Flowers.  The whole theme was vintage and 1920’s style. We tried extremely hard to stick to I that concept and it was hard finding stuff that fit that so we did a lot.  Continue reading

Wedding Inspiration – Rock & Roll Elegance With Vintage Vibes

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you this styled shoot at the awesome  Cheshire venue Owen House Barn from Elsielove Photography.

This styled shoot included a team of great suppliers, all based up in the North including Smith Street Kitchen Pizza which is a converted horse box where guests can order freshly made pizza at your wedding reception!

Red Floral Architecture always have amazing floral installations and this wedding arch and bouquet and are exactly the same – I absolutely love how it decorates the LOVE letters from The Word Is Love perfectly and the light decor from Luminate Events is so epic too!  Continue reading

An 8-Bit Wedding In A Barn – Kayleigh & David

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you Kayleigh and David’s wedding at Farbridge Barn from Joanna Cleeve Photography. They had center pieces and a table plan where all characters and places from films & TV shows they both love and their stationery had an 8 Bit theme which looked awesome!

We actually met nearly 20 years ago in school! Dave, rocking up briefcase in hand with his freshly pressed blazer (he thought it would make him look ‘cool’), me with my 2 sizes too big jumper… It wasn’t until year 9 that I actually noticed him mind. I asked him out and he declined immediately (he only had eyes for flame haired Esther back then…). We then lived together in student housing after college and spent many nights playing Resident Evil until the early hours (with a cheeky bit of kissing…) I suppose we’ve always had that ‘one step from being an item’ situation going on and it wasn’t until years later we eventually sealed the deal and haven’t looked back. We knew it would be forever if we ever got together.

When we were both 16 years old at school Dave gave me this tiny soft toy moose. That moose has stayed with me through over half a dozen house moves and is on our bookshelf in our home to this day. We had little bride and groom moose cake toppers made and our rings both have antler in them (naturally shed and handmade in America). We also used a lot of 8 bit imagery given our mutual love of gaming and Dave created the table plan with corresponding table names and order of services along with the save the dates in an 8 bit style.

We also had a full size barrel (our Son is called Cooper, so this was an idea with him in mind given Cooper’s are barrel makers) that everyone left messages on as a ‘guest book’. The barrel is now a useable lamp stand in our house!

There were so many little things that felt ‘Kave’ (our friends refer to us as Kave!) during the day… 2 of our closest friends did readings during the ceremony (they were sent direct to the registrar so we had no idea what the content would be…). One read the lyrics to ‘Love is Like a Bottle of Gin’ by The Magnetic Fields and the other recited from memory a poem she’d written about us. It was so perfect and we were so pleased that we didn’t know what was being read in advance.  Continue reading

A Tattooed Gamer Wedding In Lancashire – Lianne & Dan

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you an awesome Northern wedding from Tattooed Wedding Photography. Lianne and Dan got married at Garstang Country Hotel and had nerdy elements such as a Pokeball ring box. What a great way to combine a classic “white wedding” with their own personality.

The whole day was amazing. My highlight was probably seeing Dan’s face when I walked down the aisle. I’ve never seen him look so happy. Dan’s says his highlight was when we were saying the vows and I was holding his hand, he could tell I was nervous and excited at the time. Also having the music we love playing in the evening.

I knew I didn’t want a dress with a lace top or sleeves so my tattoos could be seen better. I went dress shopping with an open mind, tried loads on and my maid of honour burst into tears when I tried this one on so I knew I had a winner.
