LOVE LETTERS – Alex & Mick’s Woodland Engagement Shoot

Today on Marry Me Ink, I thought I’d start the week off with this gorgeous couple from Daz Mack Photography. Alex and Mick had the engagement shoot whist taking their dogs out for a walk – It’s super cute! They both took the time to tell me about their time together and plans for their upcoming wedding.

We met in my then local pub, watching the boxing. I spied Mick across a snooker table, saw his joker smile (back before he grew in the beard) and knew I had to try and seduce him. Oh so slick, I chatted him up and bragged about my upcoming business and gave him a card. Later on he came around to find me and give me the card back – “I’m sure you’re a nice lass but some other blokes have just been showing me the exact same calling card. Maybe some other time.” (I’d been drunkenly throwing them around at the bar in an attempt to look impressive and boorish). I was devastated, I ran out after him but he had already gone.

Three days later I got a cheeky text message, letting me know he’s played a dog’s trick and already had put my number in his phone before he returned the card. “Have you been thinking about me?”. It’s been 5 years of pranking, teasing and generally trying to get the upper-hand ever since.

One day, we’d said we would go into town for late night Christmas shopping but I had a nightmare of a day at work and wasn’t feeling the holiday vibe. I got home and he was dressed to the nines and ready to head out – despite my best efforts to cause a row and keep us at home to do it another night – so off we went.

He walked me up and down the high street under the lights, we got festive drinks to go and he soon warmed me around. “There’s a reason I wanted so badly to come into town tonight, ” he said, dropping on bended knee under the town clock.  “Are you kidding me–?” I stammered, feeling like a right shrew.

Wistmans Wood – A Mystical & Gothic Bridal Shoot

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you this beautifully dark woodland shoot from Emma Stoner Weddings and an epic team of suppliers including The Couture Company and Bloom and Flourish.

Wistmans Wood on a Dartmoor is a mystical copse of ancient, dwarf oak trees. The veil between the realms is thin here and the place is thought to be haunted by devilish hounds and inhabited by faery folk. The Unseelie Court of dark faeries hunts along with these hounds of hell, attacking and robbing travellers who dare to stray into their grove. These faeries work closely with the Owls who inhabit their land. Owls act as messengers for the faeries and have strong connections to the faery realm. The Unseelie Court is a winter court and the power of these faeries is strongest on the Winter Solstice. They are a social group, ruled by a Queen & King.”

“This bridal shoot is a depiction of the Unseelie Faerie Realm. The Unseelie Queen wears a flower crown and holds and beautiful white barn owl. She is joined by her prince who wears a soldiers jacket that he has stolen from the human realm. This is decorated with feathers to match her feathery jewellery and feathered friends. Other Fae folk are pictured, one is captured sitting alone with an owl.”

Love Letters – Leah & Andy’s Great Gatsby Engagement Shoot

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you this gorgeous themed engagement shoot from Luna Photographie. They had the cutest Great Gatsby themed shoot in the woods and on the beach – I can’t wait for you to hear their story!

Andy and Leah met their sophomore year of college in an English class. They just happened to sit next to each other, and their professor warned the class that they may be sitting next to a future spouse. Little did they know, they were!

Andy asked Leah out every semester, but she said no until their senior year. He took Leah to an Italian restaurant and ice skating. It was then Leah realised Andy was the man of her dreams.

A Cute Zoo And Aquarium Wedding On The Torquay Coast – Lucy & Steven

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with, quite possibly the cutest wedding ever featured on the blog. Lucy and Steven got married at Living Coasts – An awesome zoo and aquarium on the Torquay coast and had Memories and Milestones Photography there to capture it all in it’s glory – Even the time they spent with  the penguins!

Our whole theme of our wedding was very much rustic 50’s inspired – from vintage bridesmaids dresses, to our amazing Morris minor 1000 convertible taking us to our venue. It was so us! Our wedding favours were fake tattoos for our guests as we’re the only tattooed people in our families! The children who attended were covered by the end of the day!

We made our own save the date cards which were very vintage and original – these were so fun to make! We also made our own seating plan with vintage bunting and rope! our demi-john jar centrepieces we also made ourselves with rustic flowers for an extra vintage look!

I knew with my wedding dress would 100% have to be sleeveless as my tattoos are very much a big part of me as a person and I wanted to show that! Why hide a massive part of yourself especially on the biggest day of your life?!
