Introducing Acacia Floristry

MMI_1098

Today I get to introduce you to the wonderful Jodie, the creator of the fabulous designs of Acacia Floristry. Jodie’s designs include both fresh flowers and glittering brooch bouquets.

My name’s Jodie, I own Acacia and have been a florist for a very long time!

My love of the industry began when I started bunking off school to work on weddings midweek, (maybe it was the thrill of hiding under the work bench, every time a teacher came in the shop, that got me hooked)

I live on the border between Wiltshire and the Cotswolds with my hubby, two kids Liv and Jazy, and an evil black cat that hates me!

I’ve booked in for my first tattoo with my husbands artist, and for the first time ever I’m struggling with design, half the reason why I read Marry Me Ink!!

A Beautiful, Low Key Wedding In Cleveland – Angel & Patrick

MMI_0962

Today I get to share with you the beautiful wedding of Angel and Patrick from Jenni Bella Photography.

MMI_0943

The small  ceremony took place at St Coleman’s church and the reception took place a Patrick’s parents’ house.

“We did everything the way we wanted and that was that. It was low key and easy going and was everything we could have asked for.”

The highlight of our wedding day was enjoying it with only my closest family and being able to laugh and enjoy the whole ceremony with them, and of course saying “I do”.

Hello again everyone. Sorry this post is coming a little late. I started a new role at work and April has been a bit of a blur! The only thing I can think is “AHHH! I am getting married in like 5 months and have so much to do!” – It really is true when they say time flies. During this next post I wanted to take some time to talk about a few things I created after picking out our wedding party.

[1] Building my wedding planner

It seems like before you are engaged – you thought you have it all down if it were to happen. You feel that you could get married tomorrow because you are ready with a plan. Same went for me. My Pinterest board was ready to go, filled with extravagant ideas and steps on “what to do once you’re engaged”. What you don’t realize is how much organizing and attention to detail it really takes to execute on an idea. I know that if I want my wedding to go smoothly and exactly how I want, staying organized will be crucial.  It is one thing to have an inspiration board (thank you Pinterest) and another to have a detailed, month to month plan of what needs to be done. I highly recommend either purchasing a wedding planner or making your own. I looked around the bookstore and online but could not find anything that I really liked so I decided to make my own.

The template I used can be found here

What I liked about creating my own wedding planner, was that it allowed me to pick and choose what was relevant for our wedding. It also provided great timelines, budget worksheets and little things you don’t even consider thinking of. The printables she provided are so great!

A Cool And Classy 60s Wedding – Shannon & Nick

MMI_0862

“We kept the traditions we felt passionate about, ditched the ones we felt weren’t as meaningful to us”

MMI_0846

Today I get to share with you the cool, stylish and very classy Smog Shoppe wedding of Shannon and Nick from Steve Cowell Photo. I love everything about this wedding from Shannon’s classic dress and flower crown, to their accidental first look.

Nick had curated an art exhibition near where I was living. I walked by, peered in the window, and thought it was interesting enough to have a look. We met, scheduled a studio visit to see my work, and spent a year or so becoming friends. About two weeks into our relationship we went to Cleveland on a whim. That was a trip we will always remember fondly.

The only DIY element we had were our Save The Date cards. The master copy was Sharpie on paper. Easy.
