I love bright hair colours, and Christine’s is fabulous (I’m getting quite a few brides with awesome hair recently). Honey & The Moon Photography put a call out on Twitter with some quite detailed specifications:

“Do you live in Belfast? Do you have electric blue hair? Do you have a lot of tattoos? Do you have a bf? Is he bearded? We need YOU!”

With a number of replies, married couple Gerard & Christine were chosen for this amazing supplier-filled shoot!

Honey and the Moon Photography’s ethos is to treat every single customer the same! We are everyone friendly, so no matter who you are, where you live or who you love, we love you! You do you and we’ll photograph you doing it!

We’ve always been of the opinion that styled photo shoots should be the most extreme example of what wedding vendors can do, because they are the catwalk of the wedding industry. The international fashion shows tend to inspire what is seen on the high street and don’t usually sell their outlandish designs to the general public, so we believe that is what wedding vendors should be doing! They should be inspiring their potential customers, showing their most creative side and selling their skills!

In September last year, we were to exhibit at the Quirky Wedding Fair at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast and after getting to know some of the exhibitors we decided to organise a collaborative effort and create something truly unique and well, quirky!

“Inspired by tattoos and all things alternative we asked the suppliers to go as nuts as they wanted as long as it had some relation to tattoos.”

A Bride In Red – Adele & Anthony

“I’ve know ever since I was a little girl I wanted to get married in red dress, but unfortunately my taste was not shared by many bridal shops, apart from one.”

Today I get to share with you Adele – a beautiful bride who decided to wear red on her wedding day, with thanks to The Couture Company who created such a gorgeous dress and with fantastic images from Ben Fones Photography.

“We like to think that the whole wedding was relaxed, full of laughter with family and friends, but with our own little twist on tradition. This is just like our lives!”

It was the most important thing to me that my tattoos had to be on display (much to my mum’s dismay) if they could not be incorporated into the design of the dress they must be shown off. I converted my Mom in the end proving body art can be just as beautiful as the dress you wear; you just have to find the perfect one.

I was told about The Couture Company from a friend who was also getting married, I did not hold out much hope as I had been disappointed before. But boy was I so wrong!!! As soon as I walked through the door I knew I’d get my dress from here!! Jo and her team were so lovely and laid back which made me relax and completely trust them to create the dress of my dreams, and she didn’t disappoint, Jo has a fantastic ability to pick the idea out your head and make it a reality. I didn’t want to take my dress off on my wedding day, it was so beautiful, and beauty should not be hidden in a wardrobe, so I have had mine framed and hung on my lounge wall for to see!

A Super Elegant Wedding – Lauren & Ben

095-LWhen Traditionally Modern Weddings & Events sent me through a sneak peek of this wedding – I loved how elegant and super cool Lauren & Ben are!

Taking place at The Cotton Warehouse in Monroe, Lauren & Ben did plenty to make sure their wedding day represented them as a couple..

We both love music, so there were a lot of musical elements throughout the wedding.  Table numbers were written with chalk on records, and our wedding planner, Dawn, made vases using records fitted around PVC pipe. Our florist used an old guitar to make our ceremony table centrepiece. We also had a couple of tattoo details – a friend of mine made a logo for our wedding that we had made into temporary tattoos, and our wedding planner set up a tattoo parlour so our guests could apply their tattoos.

“The ceremony was actually my favourite part, all the stress of wedding planning and the nervousness (surprisingly) disappeared as soon as I started walking down the aisle.”
