A Yorkshire Moors Wedding Inspired By Roses – Tamar & Nick

Tamar & Nick-442

Today I get to share with you gorgeous tattooed bride Tamar and her husband Nick’s North Yorkshire wedding that took place at the beautiful Danby Castle by Esk Valley Weddings from John Hope Photography. Tamar confesses that she went a bit crazy with the DIY and even made her own dress – it’s amazing!

Our wedding was inspired by roses, Grace Kelly’s wedding dress, vintage cups of tea, floral prints, lace, mason jars, and the country side”, said Tamar. “We wanted to keep it as true to ourselves as possible. The most important thing for us was that our wedding represented our own personalities. If there is anything that shines in our character – is that both are a mix of classic and modern.

Nick has an amazing moustache (he even made his groomsmen grown moustaches for the wedding day!) and I’m a creative person and always try to express myself in any possible way (including my skin!)

A Skull Themed Wedding At The Boat Club – Zelda & Paul

20141101-DSC_5436-Edit-Edit-Edit

It’s the weekend! Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you tattooed bride Zelda and husband Paul’s skull-filled wedding at St Mary’s Boat Club from Topher + Rae Studios.

Paul and I met more than a dozen years ago at the Red Fox Tavern (it was a bit of a shady place and it has since closed down , too bad, they did have great wings ) “we were foxing it up” as we like to call it, after we danced the night away Paul drove me home but not until we almost got murdered by a train, yup we ran the tracks, what a close call I can still hear the train and see the lights, now that’s excitement for ya. We exchanged phone numbers and I heard from him a week later and we started dating we instantly clicked, it wasn’t long after and we moved in together.

The skulls were defiantly a big part of the day. Like I said in our program why the skull theme? The wife likes skulls, happy wife = happy life.

Being from Newfoundland I wanted some Newfie elements as well so I had ordered a seal skin bow tie from Always in Vogue from St. John’s Newfoundland, “this store is amazing”. Another Newfoundland element we added was an ugly stick a time long tradition of a Newfoundland musical instrument used while mummering at Christmas time. It’s made from a broom handle (being totally Canadian we used a hockey stick) and an ol’ rubber boot, a tin can here and there and a crap load of beer caps, “some lovely craft beers was consumed in the making of the “ugly stick” add a large coffee can for the head & a mop as the hair. Voila, an ugly stick was made. Pick it up, bang it around and beat on it with an old wooden spoon… this was our request for kissing at the reception instead of clinking wine glasses which we deemed too hard on the ears and probably not safe for the glasses.

A DIY, Bohemian Celebration Of Love – Roxie & Paul

MMI_3643

Today I get to share with you this gorgeous intimate Manchester wedding with a bohemian vibe from Icon Photography Studios. Roxie and Paul did everything themselves – Invitations, flowers, decorations and dress alterations!

I actually met Paul through Facebook four years ago! It sounds ridiculous but we had friends in common and I friend requested Paul as I knew he was a photographer and had worked with a lot of my friends who were models. I had seen pictures of him on Facebook at a burlesque event he had attended and he was wearing a pinstripe suit, he caught my eye straight away. I then sat up all night looking at all his photography images on Facebook and liking them. Which lead to Paul waking up the next morning to over fifty likes on Facebook, which definitely got his attention! I just didn’t know he had already been through my pictures and I already had his attention!

We then started talking via inbox, which turned to texting then meeting up for our first date! We went out to an alternative student night in Manchester that involved lots of cider, laughing a lot and at the end of the night kissing up against the wall outside like teenagers! I knew I felt a special connection that night but I didn’t want to rush things so we arranged to meet the day after and we have not been apart since! We are truly best friends.

Love Letters – A Yorkshire Golden Hour

MMI_3459

Today I get to share with you the gorgeous tattooed bride-to-be Emma and her fiancé Chris’ engagement shoot (with the most amazing golden hour light!) from West Yorkshire wedding photographer Maryanne Scott. The story of how Emma and Chris met is lovely!

MMI_3433

We initially met on a dating website in mid 2011. After months of exchanging texts messages and lengthy phone calls we finally decided to meet in person in December 2011. Chris lived on the Lincolnshire coast and I lived in West Yorkshire but he decided he had a good feeling about us meeting so he drove up to meet me.

Our first “face to face” date was coffee and cake at a Starbucks.. Needless to say we hit it off, he well and truly swept me off my feet and we spent the three days together!!! We had a long distance distance relationship from then until he moved up to Yorkshire in October 2012.
