The Turquoise & Red Two Day Tattooed Wedding – Clint & Rae [The Tattooed Bride Blog]

These next two weeks on Marry Me Ink I will be featuring the wedding of Clint and Rae that lasted over two days! When Mike of Allebach Photography got in contact with me with a link to this wedding – just seeing day one of their wedding was enough!

I’m going to hand straight over to Rae to tell you all about her experience of choosing her wedding dress – I totally love this story!

Rachael, I am so honored you guys are featuring the wedding 😉 it truly was the best two days of my life and an unforgettable experience!
I want to tell you the story of my tattoo from the day I picked the dress out..

Ok so the day I went to pick out my Wedding Gown…. I was very nervous. I knew I would find the one dress for me but I was nervous because this was the first time any of my family would see my half sleeve. I had just finished it about 2 weeks prior. I was ready though for weeks wearing long sleeved shirts I needed it to be seen!
My grandmother who I call “Gram” is a traditional Italian woman. I didn’t want to upset her on this momentous day.

So i try on the first dress… No one said a word about the tattoo..
Then the second dress…
Finally the third dress and I hear “That dress looks great with your tattoo” My grandmother picked the dress.

Not only was I so happy with her reaction (and relieved), I absolutely fell in love with the dress and knew it was the one. I saw a tear from my mother and mother in law and in that moment knew that all would be alright. They accepted my artwork because they love me and all that is me, including my new tattoo.

Later at my bachelorette party I explained to my mother the meaning behind the tattoo..

The ship reminds me of my Gram and Pop helping me to sail in life (also Pop was a Sailor in the service)… The Birds are my dad and sister helping me fly away… The water is Clint, my husband, constantly around me in motion… My mother the anchor in my life and the rose has a very special meaning to her, lastly me… The mermaid with big fake boobs surrounded by the people that have truly impacted my life forever.

My mother and I cried that night. Now feeling elated with the tattoo and my own diverse nature I could be proud of my decision.

The wedding was a success but the tattoo made it unique and definable.

I love the story behind the tattoo and doesn’t it look gorgeous?!! Do leave some love for Mike who let me use the images of Clint & Rae’s special day!
Be sure to head back on Thursday next week to hear and see what awesomeness happened on day two of their wedding celebrations!

A Fun, Colourful, “KAPOW!” Engagement – Samy & Stephen [Tattooed Bride Blog]

This is one of my favourite engagement shoots I’ve posted on the blog so far! I saw these images previous to Zoe sending me a lovely message over on the Photos By Zoe blog where  Samy & Stephen look like they were having so much fun, despite nearly being blown away by the blustery conditions.

Unfortunately, Zoe won’t spill any details of their wedding apart from there being some fab spots around the venue they ave chosen. I can’t wait to see those images later on this year!
Samy & Stephen look like such a fun couple to be with, all the colourful tattoos, skate parks, Samy’s “Boing” necklace & Stephen’s exceptional pouting against the brickwork.

As for their tattoos, Samy tells me that Stephen is quite the addict, with both of his arms covered – one serious, one silly (I love the “KAPOW!” tattoo). One of his next tattoos is a dot-to-dog dragon, which Samy gets to colour in!
As for Samy herself, she is currently planning her first quarter sleeve for before the wedding but is currently finding it hard to find an artist that she likes.

SEE! Aren’t they sun a fun couple?!! Do take a look here through the photos, I can’t wait to see images of their wedding!

Do leave some love for photographer Zoe and for Samy & Stephen.
Also, if you have any tattooists that you like you could leave Samy a comment on who you like/who did yours. My personal favourite tattooists are Laura of Legends Tattoo Studio (She’s a good friend who designed and inked all of mine) and then there’s obviously Nic of Songbird Tattoo Studio.

Have a great week guys! – Rach.X

Inky Boudoir [Tattooed Bride Blog]

Today I bring to Marry Me Ink, a stunning boudoir shoot from the wonderful Billingham Photography.

When I came across Adrian & Cat’s pictures of Gemma,  I was so excited! Boudoir is definitely a great gift to surprise your OH with pre-wedding, post wedding, for an an anniversary, oh hell, you don’t need an excuse! I see it as a great way to get to show off all of those tattoos!

My favourite is Gemma’s chest piece.. I have one in mind scrawled on a to do list somewhere..

“This is Gemma, she was recently tattooed in this shoot, she had developed a bug’ for ink with the intention of further adding to her designs.
This ‘boudoir’ style shoot took place in Gemma’s home which was minimalist with amazing natural light filtering through the windows, the neutral tones were the perfect background to show the fiery red hair combined with the amazing tattoos, the ‘No Regrets’ tattoo on her forearm was the exact way she felt about her new love of ink.
We really enjoyed this shoot as it is so far removed from what is ‘usual’ and expected in boudoir photography, tattooed women are so wonderful to photograph, Gemma was so confident with herself since having ink, she explained that it gave her new confidence after having her ‘daughter’. We offer boudoir shoots with a difference, we shoot in your own home or at a location of your choice, for more information on Boudoir shoots, contact us for individual quotes.
We also shoot weddings and are on the lookout for tattooed couples, check out our website for more information.”

Sheesh! How gorgeous is Gemma?!! Especially all of her intricate inkings! I spot another favourite.. The sugar skull!
Do leave Adrian, Cat & Gemma some love – They totally deserve it! – Rach.XX

Red, White & Blue Bridal Inspiration Shoot [Tattooed Bride Blog]

LOOK AT THIS!!

When Jaye of Tux & Tales Photography sent this inspirational bridal shoot – I squealed in excitement! I got to meet Jaye this weekend at the Alternative Wedding Fair.
You would have seen these images already on Rock n’ Roll Bride back in August..

The shoot was styled on a shoestring budget. “I think it is a great way to show brides that they can have a fun and fab style with a little pocket change and a lot of elbow grease.” says Jaye.. Sat on the living room floor, feathers flying everywhere whilst her cat plays catch the feather with the hat styling!

Boo, their model, is a burlesque girl and did all her own hair and make-up too.
Do leave Jaye of Tux & Tales some love on how beautifully British this bridal shoot is!
