A Cute Colchester Wedding

Good evening! Today’s real bride is Mindy – isn’t she gorgeous?!
I found Mindy through the wonderful Natalie of L.O.V.E Bouquets who created Mindy’s gorgeous arrangement. They had such personal details from having their son as the ring bearer to going back to their home town to celebrate at their local community centre which they decorated themselves.

“We met down the beach of my home town back in 2001. It was a nightly & weekend thing that the boys would turn up in their cars & would park up in a line on the grass & have a talk & a laugh & a kick around with a football. We started flirting by playing football & play fighting – I was always giving him dead arms.

One night after a few drinks down the beach, we kissed  & it just blossomed from there.

After a year of being together & I had just finished college I fell pregnant with our son, Bowen. It was then that we got engaged & I have been wanting to get married ever since. But affording to was the main reason why we didn’t till now. Bowen is now 9!! We booked the date last year & the date we picked was basically our 11th year anniversary of being together, which we thought was perfect. Continue reading

Tattoo Tuesday: 31st July 2012 [UK Tattooed Bride Blog]

Good evening – Today for Tattoo Tuesday I bring you the gorgeous Annie Frenzel’s work. I follow her stuff on her Instagram and her blog and saw this beast:

Isn’t it amazing? The colouring on it is fantastic! “I don’t think I have a specialty really, but I love simple, strong and colorful designs.
I love Annie’s work, but being based in Germany, I’d have to take a holiday at the same time if I were to get tattooed. Do leave Annie some love – she’s phenominal!

Don’t forget you can email in your tattoos and stories to marrymeink@gmail.com

Tattoo Tuesday: 24th July 2012 [UK Tattooed Bride Blog]

Welcome to another edition of tattoo Tuesday – The weekly post where you can email in your tattoo stories or, if you’re an artist, send in you favourite tattoo pieces. Which is exactly what this lovely lady has done..

Amy Grant. She is a new favourite of mine after finding her work on Intsagram. The colour and lining she uses in her tattooing is phenominal – especially in her vintage pieces such as mirrors and teacups.
Amy tattoos at Institute in Gorleston-On-Sea, Norfolk. You can see the studio’s Facebook here and Amy’s work here.

“Okay so this is my favourite one that I’ve been privileged to tattoo, the customer sent me some old flash of a smoking fighter pilot woman and for the life of me I can’t find the original or the artist who done it! But I re-drew the whole thing and can remember being nervous about whether he’d like it because it was so different to what he’d sent.

The reason its my favourite is because it was the last tattoo I done before I finished my apprenticeship, it was the one that made me feel comfortable and confident in what I was doing.”

Isn’t Amy’s work AWESOME?!! Don’t forget you can email in your tattoos and stories to marrymeink@gmail.com

Sausage, Bacon and Eggs: Ella & Gary [UK Tattooed Bride Blog]

Oh my, this wedding just screams cute! Kittens and an English breakfast theme? What’s not to love?! Ella is a wonderful illustrator whose work I love – especially the flamingos and Percy The Cat (See more of her wonderful work here) and Gary loves fry ups – so how better to represent themselves than having a mini fry up for the meals and decorating their venue as a cafe, complete with sausage bunting?!!

“It was a fabulous day, really lovely, all our friends came together helping us with food, music and a little photography! A friend even crocheted us a blanket as a wedding present which contained fried eggs, bacon, beans, the pink ruffles off my dress and the embroidery off the first dress I had!

“It was a real wedding on a shoestring but meant so much that all our friends made it possible.  I was still stitching my dress together the night before but finished it just in time!!

“The wedding favour brooches I made based on my favourite character Percy the cat who finally found his soulmate!”

Oh my – Doesn’t it look like such a wonderful day? From Ella’s cute kitten dress to Gary’s leopard detailed suit (Just wait until to you see their pink beetle!) And their cake looks amazing! Complete with sausage bunting and sweet fried eggs!
Do leave Ella & Gary some love – See below more photos and the amazing invitations that Ella produced!
