An Magical Outdoor Wedding Picnic – Meagan & Micah

AJWP_MMI_0028

Today is Marry Me Ink’s final post of 2015.. How quick has this year gone? I’m not going to do a year round up post this year – There would be far too much to try and fit in! Instead, I’m going to share with you Meagan and Micah’s inmate, outdoor wedding from Allison Jeffers Photography.

My sister is married to a fire fighter and she had just had a baby. (my niece) I was over at her house seeing the baby and Micah showed up to see my brother in law. He is also a fire fighter. He asked my brother in law about me and the rest is history.

We had a small, intimate wedding, and we both don’t like to make things big and flashy. We did it outdoors with very woodsy colors and we both love being outside.

Our entire wedding was DIY. I painted, spray painted, glued, and made many trips to Hobby Lobby. I am big on making things myself and crafting is something I enjoy, so the DIY aspect of the wedding was very important to me.

I definitely took my tattoos into consideration when searching for my dress – I love the classic look with tattoos and needed mine to show!

A Celebration Of Tattoos, Music And Love – Emma & James

Lorna Lovecraft (48)

Today’s gorgeous tattooed bride is Emma – who decided a gorgeous fifties Lindy Bop wedding dress was the way to awesomely show her ink when she married husband James. Their wedding took place in Stone and alternative wedding photographer Lorna Lovecraft caught the beauty of it all, including Emma’s new tattoo that she got on the morning on their wedding day!

Unfortunately, there was nothing exciting about our meeting. We met at a pub in a fairly local village. I do remember that whenever James would come to pick me up, you would hear his beloved car before you saw him – Thankfully that’s long gone now.

Lorna Lovecraft (51)

Our clothes reflected our love of the vintage but with a modern edge. The tattoo that I had on the day, showing our love for tattoos and the music, because no one does music like the 50’s. It was perfect for us!

A Relaxed Back Garden Wedding With A Claire Pettibone Dress – Bobbie & Jesse

Federgreen-410

Today on Marry Me Ink, tattooed bride Bobbie wore a gorgeous Claire Pettibone wedding dress when she married Jesse in their back garden which helped with the relaxed feel they wanted for their day. Their back garden wedding is gorgeously captured by Elevate Photography.

It was basically a friend of a friend of a friend that wanted us two to meet. We met as a group at the park and Jesse brought one of his dogs that was pretty impressive catching the frisbee. Jesse’s Friend didn’t get the memo that I was there to meet Jesse and not him though, he kept trying to touch my tattoos and made the entire day so awkward!

It was a laid back but well kept evening, the pizza food truck and games everywhere represented the relaxed personalities but the fine liquor we had also gave the “we like the better things in life” impression!

I was so worried about people not letting loose but the DJ was so good that everyone was on the dance floor (the open bar helped as well!).. Seeing such a wide array of people bonding on the dance floor made me so happy.

A Outdoor Wedding Featuring A Tattooed Vera Wang Bride – Laura & Lee

Helen Russell Photography-55

Today I get to share with you the beautifully tattooed Laura and husband Lee’s outdoor ceremony at Eshott Hall Boutique Hotel in Northumberland from Helen Russell Photography. Laura told me that her and Lee have matching tattoos which they got early on in their relationship..

Lee already had a full back piece and his arms covered and I already had a few. I was kind of testing the waters and joking and said “Ha, we should get matching tattoos!”. To which Lee responded, “Okay, what do you want to get?” I was a little shocked but totally up for it, we were in Edinburgh on a spur of the moment weekend away and we googled the closest tattoo shop, walked in and came out with matching rose tattoos! Good job we are married now!

We had known of each other for quite some time but neither of us had the courage to take the plunge and ask.  Eventually, we decided to have a first date. We skipped all of the awkwardness and just decided this day would be the first date! It was a day that ended up being special for other reasons.  My Mam, who has now passed, never got to meet Lee but I remember sitting on her hospital bed with her and telling her about him.. We spent that evening in the hospital giggling about boys and browsing ASOS trying to find me a dress for this date! She picked out “THE” dress and shoes. So even though she never got to meet Lee, Lee always says if it wasn’t for the dress (which he refers to as the “Slamming Black Dress”), he isn’t sure there would have been a second date.
