A Punk Engagement Shoot at The Custard Factory – Rich & Louise [Tattoo Bride Blog]

These images are just too cool! When Samantha of Samantha J Photography sent me a link to this colourful engagement shoot, the first thing I noticed was how cute Louise & Rich were – seriously, it looked like they they totally loved their engagement shoot with Samantha.

How awesome is Louise’s hair? I love the colour!

When Louise & Rich booked me to photograph their wedding I was soooooo excited…it’s unreal!!

I was bowled over at the mention of halloween fancy dress at the reception, the wedding shoes having bats on them..
BUT when Rich mentioned he was possibly going to be covered in UV body paint during the evening I nearly fainted!!

So..I knew that their engagement shoot HAD to be different..it absolutely had to reflect their personalities & as I had recently done a fashion/bridal shoot at the Custard Factory in Birmingham…I just knew it was perfect.

So we headed off one Sunday & had a fantastic time… BOY I can’t wait to photograph their big day!!!!!

Seriously? Fancy dress? HECK YES! Boy I can’t wait for that wedding!
Big thanks to Samantha for sharing these gorgeous photos, and for Louise & Rich for sharing some of their secret peeps into how awesome their wedding is going to be!

Don’t forget to leave some love!

A Rustic Junkyard Trash The Dress Shoot – Jeanna [Tattooed Bride Blog]

Good evening! And welcome to this exciting trash the dress shoot that I discovered of Jeanna!
I was lucky to come across Jeanna on the So Tattooed forum (A place for tattooed lovelies, artists and businesses to discuss the wonders of ink) around a month ago and saw sneak peeks of these photos (Seriously.. wait till you see the rest!) taken by photographer Stephanie Rose.

A few emails were exchanged between myself, Stephanie & Jeanna and here we have it.. A gorgeous, rustic, junkyard trash the dress shoot!

I have gotten all of my tattoos in memorial of my best friend who died over 10 years ago. We were always with each other and were known as the JJ girls. So everything I have is just a constant reminder of her and to live each day to the fullest because you never know when it could be cut short. So I have a cross with smaller crosses coming off of it that represents her passing and the last gift I got from her (a cross bracelet), Easter lilies because those were her favorite flowers, a faceless angel with wings of fire because I believe she is my guardian angel and she was always firey :), a Dali inspired piano because we both played and Dali is one of my favorite artists.

A Phoenix because I believe in life after death, a 13 for the day she died, a 14 for the day she was born and a black widow sparrow with a green eye that represents her in death.

The shoot was a blast! We went to this awesome junk yard in Denton, TX that just has acres and acres of old cars and car parts. We both love vintage things, so we just trecked across the junkyard looking for cool things for me to take pictures with.

The shoot idea was actually an idea from my wedding photographer, Stephanie Rose. She had been wanting to do one, so I told her I was totally up for it!

I would TOTALLY recommend doing a trash the dress shoot! It is a fun way to get more use out your wedding dress after all!

A HUGE thank you for Stephanie & Jeanna for allowing to share their photos.. Just wait until you see all of Jeanna’s tattoos!

Marry Me Ink Hits Manchester! [Tattooed Bride Blog]

So here they are – FINALLY! I’ve been SOOOOO excited about sharing this shoot with you!

It all started out with a little message from Andrea Ellison Photography with regards to a wedding she’s recently done featuring a lovely tattooed bride (To be coming up on the blog soon!) as to if I could use her images.. More messages were exchanged and I was asked if I ever wanted to do a shoot for the Marry Me Ink site – She’s be up for doing so.

As you know – I was SO up for that! Details were exchanged and I was informed that we’d also be joined by Claire Penn Photography, Maria Bentley of Studio 1208 AND Victoria Thomas Make Up (The most fantastic/crazy/pink haired lady you ever did see!)

HA! Isn’t Victoria just fantastical?! After setting a date of when – it was a case of what themes, where the hell to get a dress and where to do all the shots. All being Northern lasses, Manchester was our central point and their Northern Quarter is TOO funky not to shoot in! Being a HUGE Afflecks Palace advocate, where better for me to parade around in a dress, no?!!

I didn’t need to look far for a dress – Kate Youdale of The Party Frock kindly offered to make me a dress.. Yes, that’s right – MAKE!! LOTS of tulle, in many colours – Ivory, royal blue & emerald green!

The epic spotty shoes are my own – Irregular Choice of course! As for hair accessories.. Anissa Lee offered to give her helping hand in providing some epic hair pieces, including a massive bow and a cute top hat! The sugar skull fascinator was supplied the wonderful Diablo Jo’s Rockabilly Accessories (which I may add – they have been kind enough to let me keep!). The gorgeous skully nesting doll necklace & ring were provided by the very talented Dolly Cool.
I seriously cannot thank everyone enough for all of their time and effort into making these items and letting us use them for the shoot.

From drinking tea in the cafe to being bombarded by the public’s own tattoos & cameras – Manchester sure was tonnes of fun! And here it is again – a huge, HUGE thank you to everyone involved!

Do leave Andrea, Claire & Maria big love for their images they provided me with and for Victoria, Kate, Anissa, Diablo Jo’s, Afflecks Palace and Dolly Cool for being so generous with their time and supplies! – BIG LOVE! – Rach.XX

A Midnight Melody [Tattooed Bride Blog]

Today I bring you images from Jessica Vellecorsa whose photography sure is an inky treat for the eyes! (You’ll see what I mean if you hit the blog!)

Here is what Jess says:

If there is one thing I love, it’s unique wedding photography. And when you pair it with night time portraits, I’m in heaven. I get to photograph bridals AND play with dramatic lighting?!?! Swoon….!

So when Jessica and I decided to do bridal portraits after dark, I went on a search for the perfect location. We headed to Hotel Zaza in Houston and explored the surrounding around, including St Paul’s church. The location was absolutely to die for, and we thought it would be perfect with some dramatic lighting!

I totally agree! My favourite is her owl chest piece! Do leave some love for both Jessicas! – Rach.XX
