Tattoo Tuesday: 28th August 2012

Good evening! How was your bank holiday weekend? I celebrated my birthday yesterday and got lots of goodies. Today I’m going to share with you something I will be treating myself to soon with my  birthday spends:

The cover itself looks awesome – Especially the biological heart!

“Tattoos, which were once an exclusively underground phenomenon, now have mass appeal. This evolution from sub culture to mainstream has brought fresh ideas, tensions, and shifts with it. Traditionalists and innovators have staked out very different positions. Over the last few years, new influences from the realms of art, fashion, traditional tattoo art, and visual culture have given rise to a dynamic tattoo scene a new underground.”

“Forever breaks the mould of standard tattoo books and their typical display of flesh. This publication is an in-depth investigation of current developments in contemporary tattoo culture. It introduces key innovators and presents a broad range of styles and approaches. Quality photos and insightful texts document the new self-image of a rapidly expanding and extremely creative scene.”

Alex Binnie, Yann Black, Scott Campbell, Curly, El Monga, Fergadelic and Mike Giant are just some of the lovelies featured in this awesome book.

How awesome does this sound? You can purchase this book on Amazon here.

Sausage, Bacon and Eggs: Ella & Gary [UK Tattooed Bride Blog]

Oh my, this wedding just screams cute! Kittens and an English breakfast theme? What’s not to love?! Ella is a wonderful illustrator whose work I love – especially the flamingos and Percy The Cat (See more of her wonderful work here) and Gary loves fry ups – so how better to represent themselves than having a mini fry up for the meals and decorating their venue as a cafe, complete with sausage bunting?!!

“It was a fabulous day, really lovely, all our friends came together helping us with food, music and a little photography! A friend even crocheted us a blanket as a wedding present which contained fried eggs, bacon, beans, the pink ruffles off my dress and the embroidery off the first dress I had!

“It was a real wedding on a shoestring but meant so much that all our friends made it possible.  I was still stitching my dress together the night before but finished it just in time!!

“The wedding favour brooches I made based on my favourite character Percy the cat who finally found his soulmate!”

Oh my – Doesn’t it look like such a wonderful day? From Ella’s cute kitten dress to Gary’s leopard detailed suit (Just wait until to you see their pink beetle!) And their cake looks amazing! Complete with sausage bunting and sweet fried eggs!
Do leave Ella & Gary some love – See below more photos and the amazing invitations that Ella produced!

The Leopard Print Bride [UK Tattooed Bride Blog]

Isn’t Theresa beautiful in leopard print?!! Theresa submitted her retro diner wedding after her friend Emma shared the page.. (Remember the Vegas wedding with Elvis?)
I love how quirky and fun this wedding looks – The venue is amazing!

“We kept it small and low-key but the venue (50’s diner) was perfect for us and I think near everyone said as much. We really wanted a fun venue, not some stuffy hall or a dreary banquet room.  The atmosphere, service and price were right so we went for it.”

“My tattoos – Some of them have specific meanings and some don’t.  It’s more to always remember what was happening at that time – kind of like a photo album. When picking my dress, my tattoos didn’t even cross my mind.  They’re just there.

“We don’t have wedding tattoos but we do have his/hers sugar skull tattoos that we got in the early-days of dating.”

Doesn’t Theresa look amazing?!! Do leave some love for the gorgeous couple! (Also, Emma caught Theresa’s bouquet – How coincidental!)
