A Wedding Of Motorcycles, Hot Rods And Love – Hannah & Rob

MMI_5030

Today’s tattooed bride and groom is Hannah and Rob. They both met each other online which, even though they both only joined it because it was free, Hannah said that  she found to learn so much more about Rob because of only being able to communicate via phone after the first initial messages. Their day was beautifully captured by Milwaukee based fine art wedding photographer McKenna Marie.

Really, the entirety of the day was a true representation to who we are as a couple. We made a point of keeping the cost of everything under $2,000 and successfully did so! We wanted our guests to be as comfortable as possible and encouraged them to arrive on their motorcycles and in their hot rods. Our relationship has been built on motorcycles, hot rods, and love. We wanted that to be an element to the day. We did not serve a meal which in turn saved on cost and instead opted for a cocktail hour with a nacho bar since Rob could basically live off them. We couldn’t believe how many people raved about how delicious they were.

We hung lights everywhere we could in the barn to give it a rustic, romantic, cozy vibe. The feel was truly that perfect summer night.

A Blissful, Stylish Garden Party Wedding – Janelle & Nick

MMI_4938

Tattooed bride Janelle contacted me via the Marry Me Ink Instagram with the above picture of her and new husband Nick. Aren’t they glorious? They were married at the stunning Green Gables Wedding Estate with wonderful images from Kristel Collins Photography.

We met at a high school football game, I believe it was homecoming game. We remained friends for about two years until Nick got some liquid courage and asked me out at Hooters! (Romantic right!) I drove him home that night and he called me the next morning to make sure he remembered correctly. That was 7 years ago and we have been inseparable ever since.

We wanted to make sure our taste and style was represented in our music choices. During the ceremony Nick walked out to ‘Feeling Alright by Rebelution’ and our first dance was ‘Is This Love’ by Bob Marley. I also asked our DJ if he could do a reggae style cocktail hour, which he pulled off perfectly. Our cocktail hour consisted of music by the Dirty Heads, Bob Marley, Iration, SOJA etc. It was the first time I had ever heard the Dirty Heads played at a wedding, but it was definitely us! We also wanted to include our sweet Lola in our wedding. It was definitely a pain to have her be a part of our ceremony but we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!

MISS JO BLACK’S TATTOOED TALES – THE VENUE

So it’s been a while since we heard from Marry Me Ink’s blogging bride Jo.. She’s been uber busy at tattoo conventions (See her Instagram feed for it all!) and just general wedding planning. This edition is all about the venue!! (And oh my, it’s a good one!)

It has been a while… For which I am sorry! Life kind of ran away with me and I struggled to find a moment to collect and organise my thoughts. Once I had organised my thoughts, my Macbook decided to spectacularly end it’s own life and I lost all of my (somewhat chaotic) ramblings for the second instalment of ‘Blogging Bride’.

However, I am here now. And I have some new stories to share with you.

Thinking back to when I wrote the first instalment and reading back over what I wrote, it seems aeons ago that I began this journey from single gal to bride to be.

I suppose it seems obvious to say that planning a wedding can seem an incredibly daunting task when absolutely nothing has been arranged yet. So I started with the most basic task of deciding where and when we would tie the knot. Knowing full well that neither of us worship the sun, in fact I am about as pale as they come, we decided that a winter wedding would not only provide the cosy warmth of a Christmas party in the country, but more importantly would almost halve the cost of our venue!

We looked at Orchardleigh House near Frome, but to be honest it was a little grandiose for our needs and we wanted somewhere we could feel intimate with our guests.  A friend suggested that we visit Cleeve House, built in 1857 and just a stones throw from my parents home in Devizes, in the middle of beautiful countryside with rolling hills and gorgeous views it sounded perfect.

Leigh and myself drove over to meet my Mum at Cleeve House and instantly we fell in love with it. It was like looking at the fairytale castle of a gothic princess from the outside. Inside a fire roared in a gigantic fireplace in the ‘great hall’ and that cosy Christmas feeling was almost overwhelming. I think we took all of 3 seconds to decide and confirm.
