We first met 8 years ago on new year’s eve at a local pub. We became close friends but after a couple of years, drifted apart and met different people – Even though it seemed everyone around could see we would be perfect together! After my relationship ended, I started to see little reminders of James everywhere. Despite having lived in the same small village, and even over the road from him at one point, I hadn’t seen him more than twice in the whole 5/6 years we weren’t talking!

A Tea Party At The Water Fall – Rachel & Neil

Today I get to share with you Rachel and Neil’s beautiful Keswick, Lake District wedding from Jaye and Matt of Tux & Tales Photography. Taking place at the Derwentwater youth hostel which all of their friends and family managed to decorate beautifully just the night before!

We tried to avoid doing certain things just for the sake of it, and only included things that we actually really wanted. A lot of people commented on how laidback the day felt, and I think we did pretty well to create a day that reflected us as a couple – we’re not perfect, we are messy, a bit chaotic, we make ridiculous plans, we’re often late, but things always seem to turn out in the end. That’s what it’s all about isn’t it?

Our main aim was to make it a fun and chilled out day for our guests, with less of the usual formality. Not having the restrictions of the legal ceremony (we had a quickie registry office do with just witnesses the day before) meant that we could pretty much do whatever we wanted, so that’s exactly what we did! We started with a tea-party and cake contest so that we could spend some time with our guests before the ceremony, and we were dead set on getting married outside with one of our friends doing the honours – the waterfall in the grounds of the hostel was just a lucky find! We didn’t want any of our guests to feel forced into doing things they don’t enjoy, or to be bored, so we used all of the rooms available in the hostel to create little areas for people to chill out and chat, play games, as well as the usual drinking and dancing. And we threw in a bouncy castle for good measure. Because who doesn’t love a bouncy castle??

Rachel said that she loved making the DIY elements for the wedding to create a larger version of their own living room (Neil call it the  “Rach-Fest”), as Rachel chose the majority of the décor for the day and got stuck in.. and got very close to covering everything in gem stones!

A Simplistic, Laid Back Wedding At Sydney Park – Jackie & Chase

MMI_1320

I’m so excited to share Jackie & Chase’s cute wedding ceremony with you today featuring gorgeous images from Strawberry Fields Photography that took place at Sydney Park. Jackie and Chase decided to opt out of the wedding reception after their vow exchange.

We actually met online and the moment I saw him I knew that he was supposed to be apart of my life. Chase is American and was living in Boston at the time while I was living in Sydney. I had been planning a trip to visit the states and used that as an excuse to make conversation, asking where the best places to go in Boston were (even though Boston wasn’t a part of the itinerary)

Soon enough, not a day would pass without us texting and Skyping and I had changed my entire trip around so I could spend as much time with him as possible whilst I was there. I knew he was the one before I physically met him, I honestly didn’t think that it was possible to fall in love with someone you hadn’t even met until Chase came in to my life. Everything about him was incredible and it felt like the one thing that had been missing my entire life wasn’t missing any more. The way he made me feel, how he could make me smile and laugh more than anyone ever had before, the connection we had and still have, being able to talk for hours on end about anything and everything. If you know me you would know I don’t get excited all that often.. and he was the first person I got so excited about. I was excited to learn everything there was to learn about him. I longed to speak to him every morning and every night, and I would get butterflies each time we would talk. He made me want to be the best version of me possible, and he just got me… Like none else was ever able to.

A Tattooed Wedding At The Hilton – Lucy & Neil

Wiltshire_Wedding_Photographer-94

Today I get to share with you the sleek wedding of tattooed bride and groom Lucy and Neil that took place at the Hilton in Swindon with photography from Kevin Belson. I love the story of how they both met..

One day I was getting on the bus (in the days before I could drive) and I saw a guy hobbling towards the bus stop just as the bus was pulling away.  I decided to be nice and ask the driver to stop.  He got on the bus and we started talking.  He actually told me that he had been back visiting his son, who lived with his ex-wife and that he would never get married again – Challenge accepted!

We then started talking online the next day after we had found each other on Myspace.  I had to ask him out 3 times before he would accept my offer of going for a drink. I finally managed to persuade him, and we went for a drink.. .. the rest, as they say, is history! Turns out he had given his last £20 to his son for Easter.

Our wedding was a little less than traditional.  We had over 200 temporary tattoos hat we put on each of the tables.  Both myself and Neil are heavily tattooed, so we thought we would give our guests the opportunity to join us!

We also had a wedding cake made of 100 cupcakes, with a giant cupcake on the top.  All decorated with skulls!
