A Peacock Coloured, Norman Santa Fe Depot Wedding – Dawn & Brent

RobynIcksPhotography-122

I love how totally unique today’s tattooed bride and groom are! Dawn and Brent’s wedding took place at the Norman Santa Fe Depot – not only a railway station, but a gallery, concert venue and a beautiful space. I got the chance to speak to photographer Robyn Icks about Dawn and Brent’s wedding day..

Dawn and Brent’s wedding had tons of wonderful elements that I just adore: authentic souls, lovely nature, springtime, family, love, tears, purples and blues, peacock feathers, tattoos and piercings galore, guitars, trains and an extremely charming location.

For an April wedding, I have to say the weather actually pleasantly surprised me. It was, hands-down, the best weather I’ve ever experienced at a wedding. It stayed about 70degrees and slightly overcast the whole day, which equals a photographer’s dream.

And speaking of a photographer’s dream, The Santa Fe Historical Depot in Norman is an absolutely lovely and stellar location for a wedding venue!  I love the historic ambiance and all of the local art featured inside. Definitely recommended for your venue.

A DIY, Bohemian Celebration Of Love – Roxie & Paul

MMI_3643

Today I get to share with you this gorgeous intimate Manchester wedding with a bohemian vibe from Icon Photography Studios. Roxie and Paul did everything themselves – Invitations, flowers, decorations and dress alterations!

I actually met Paul through Facebook four years ago! It sounds ridiculous but we had friends in common and I friend requested Paul as I knew he was a photographer and had worked with a lot of my friends who were models. I had seen pictures of him on Facebook at a burlesque event he had attended and he was wearing a pinstripe suit, he caught my eye straight away. I then sat up all night looking at all his photography images on Facebook and liking them. Which lead to Paul waking up the next morning to over fifty likes on Facebook, which definitely got his attention! I just didn’t know he had already been through my pictures and I already had his attention!

We then started talking via inbox, which turned to texting then meeting up for our first date! We went out to an alternative student night in Manchester that involved lots of cider, laughing a lot and at the end of the night kissing up against the wall outside like teenagers! I knew I felt a special connection that night but I didn’t want to rush things so we arranged to meet the day after and we have not been apart since! We are truly best friends.

Love Letters – A Yorkshire Golden Hour

MMI_3459

Today I get to share with you the gorgeous tattooed bride-to-be Emma and her fiancé Chris’ engagement shoot (with the most amazing golden hour light!) from West Yorkshire wedding photographer Maryanne Scott. The story of how Emma and Chris met is lovely!

MMI_3433

We initially met on a dating website in mid 2011. After months of exchanging texts messages and lengthy phone calls we finally decided to meet in person in December 2011. Chris lived on the Lincolnshire coast and I lived in West Yorkshire but he decided he had a good feeling about us meeting so he drove up to meet me.

Our first “face to face” date was coffee and cake at a Starbucks.. Needless to say we hit it off, he well and truly swept me off my feet and we spent the three days together!!! We had a long distance distance relationship from then until he moved up to Yorkshire in October 2012.

An Art Filled, Peak District Wedding – Laura & Gary

MMI_3347

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you this amazing tattooed bride and groom from Yorkshire alternative wedding photographers Tux & Tales.. Laura and Gary’s had a Peak District wedding at Cubley Hall. Both of them are art orientated (Gary being a fab tattooist) and Laura designed all of their stationery.

MMI_3294

We first met back in 2006 when my friend introduced us and Gary (Brownie) did my first ever tattoo. We didn’t cross paths again until 2008 when I came to Sheffield to study Graphic Design at University. We arranged our first date and have been together ever since! It was like we had known each other for years.

We wanted to try and hand make as much at our wedding as possible, which was really hard but with us both being creative people it felt important to add our own personal touches. I had little mini easels for the table numbers to show our artistic side. The Tea light holders and bunting were made by my amazing Grandma and Mum. I designed and hand printed all the invites and stationery including the signs and table plan. And for favours, my Mum made baileys flavoured cupcakes for everyone.
