ASSASSYNATION – Shot By Sassy

SASSY LOGO (2)

Today I get to welcome back the wonderful Sassy – One of the awesome alternative wedding photographers of the whole UK. I had the opportunity to chat to Sassy recently and ask her a few questions about what she loves and her photography.

Hey there, I’m Sassy!! Otherwise known as Assassynation photography.  I LOVE weddings, particularly weddings with a difference.  Ones with some serious personality, one’s where it gets a bit crazy……..basically anything fun.

Q1

Ummm I have quite a few, I have a chest piece, a whole back piece, my ring finger has a traditional Thai symbol on it which I had done with bamboo during my vow renewal, I have a hand tapped Thai yant on my wrist, I have my charm bracelet which documents the interesting places I go and people I meet that have impacted on my life….. This I’ll be adding to forever!!

Q2

People who know who they are, people who are unapologetic about their uniqueness and who refuse to be sidetracked in to doing “what everybody else does”.  I love creative, interesting and alternative people who judge people on their merits not what designer label they wear, what colour their hair is or what the fact that they have tattoos.  Basically if you are unusual, a bit weird, totally bonkers, and eccentric or straying from the norm I am going to love you and you are what inspire me to do this.

Q3

Whatever the hell you want!! Don’t be bullied in to anything, be brave, be yourself!! If you want a corpse bride dress, or a leopard print dress, or you want to show off your tatts then do it.  It’s your day!!

Love Letters – With True Grit & Amazing Grace

Aisling&Jeremiah_engagement_IMG_0149

Today I get to share with you the most beautiful story of Aisling and Jeremiah’s engagement, alongside the stunning photography of Natalie J Weddings

Aisling&Jeremiah_engagement_IMG_0379

We met in Vancouver, Canada. I had been living there for nearly a year and Jeremiah there for 3 years.

We met in a bar that I worked in Gastown called the The Metropole Pub “The Met”. Jeremiah would come in after work for a drink or he would come down on his days off with a group of mates for $2 Tuesdays. He and his mates drank a lot of $2 beers, they always tipped the best and the politest customers.

One night someone had had too many $2 beers and a fight had broken out (a regular occurrence at The Met), somehow this time Jeremiah and his mates had got dragged into it and onto the street, Jeremiah’s jacket got left behind and through the chaos I managed to find him and give it back. That was it that was “the moment”.

I was intrigued by Jeremiah, he was a big presence, always well dressed with tattoo’s and slick back hair, he was quiet and polite. We talked on Facebook and arranged to go to the movies.. The closer the date got, the more nervous I became.

A couple of nights before our date, I was out with some friends for a birthday and after a few too many drinks and new found courage I called Jeremiah and told him we had to meet right now and he obliged. Being the true gentleman he is , he looked after me gave me water and we talked all night, we were barely apart from that moment on.

After a few months of being together and doing everything together, my Canadian visa was expiring and I had to go back to England. For us to be together, Jeremiah had to return home to Australia to work and to save. This was a very difficult time for us being worlds apart and both leaving behind friends and the city we loved so much, but after a few months I was granted my Australian Visa and Jeremiah had paid for my flights. I shortly after arrived in Australia where Jeremiah has become the Grit to my Grace and we have began a wonderful new life together with our trusty sidekick and puppy dog Mr Bugsy.

After two years of living in Australia, we took a trip back to the U.K to introduce Jeremiah to my family (and little did in know, for Jeremiah to ask my dad for his blessing). We spent two weeks in the UK before doing a mini Euro Trip starting in Spain to see my bothers. From La Manga we drove the coast to Barcelona and then we flew to Nice. On the top of Montee Du Chateau over looking the most beautiful view of nice, Jeremiah told me he loved me as I was devouring the juiciest peach of my life I nodded with a approval. And then out of the blue he got down on one knee.. Through tears and beaming smile, (and a mouth full of peach) I said yes.

A Sugar Skull And Band Themed Wedding – Lou & Aaron

2014-01-04_0077

“We met due to ending up in a band together. I thought he was the quiet weird one!”

2014-01-04_0088

Today I get to share with you the awesome wedding of Lou & Aaron, who created a lot of their wedding extras themselves (including the band themed table plan) with images from Luna Photography.

2014-01-04_0087

Many details represented Lou & Aaron as a couple including their fantastic cake topper and sugar skulls in the flowers and button holes. Lou and the bridesmaids’ beautiful dresses were from Fairytales By Sherry and their wedding reception took place at the Lion & Swan Hotel in Congleton.

A Tattooed, DIY Liverpool Wedding – Claire & Paul

2014-01-04_0012

Today I get to share this awesome wedding that took place at the amazing Leaf On Bold Street in Liverpool, full of DIY goodness, a Vivienne Of Holloway dress and many more, with gorgeous photography from Emma Hillier Photography.

2014-01-04_0049

I love hearing how Marry Me Ink couples meet and Claire & Paul’s story is great..

Paul is the Studio Manager of Forever True Tattoo in Liverpool and I started getting tattooed there and that’s how we first met and since then we would also bump into each other at gigs!

2014-01-04_0038

We had so many people tell us it was the best wedding they had been to. People loved how relaxed and laid back it was and just danced away all night.

2014-01-04_0030

“The whole thought of a wedding was very daunting to us, we are just not that kinda couple.”

We scrapped the whole formal dinner and decided to get married late in the day. We chose Leaf on Bold Street as our evening venue. We loved the vibe of the place and eat there regularly so we knew we’d feel comfortable there… plus they make a mean halloumi sandwich. Becky who is their wedding planner was brilliant and was so easy going about the whole day.
