A Blissful, Stylish Garden Party Wedding – Janelle & Nick

MMI_4938

Tattooed bride Janelle contacted me via the Marry Me Ink Instagram with the above picture of her and new husband Nick. Aren’t they glorious? They were married at the stunning Green Gables Wedding Estate with wonderful images from Kristel Collins Photography.

We met at a high school football game, I believe it was homecoming game. We remained friends for about two years until Nick got some liquid courage and asked me out at Hooters! (Romantic right!) I drove him home that night and he called me the next morning to make sure he remembered correctly. That was 7 years ago and we have been inseparable ever since.

We wanted to make sure our taste and style was represented in our music choices. During the ceremony Nick walked out to ‘Feeling Alright by Rebelution’ and our first dance was ‘Is This Love’ by Bob Marley. I also asked our DJ if he could do a reggae style cocktail hour, which he pulled off perfectly. Our cocktail hour consisted of music by the Dirty Heads, Bob Marley, Iration, SOJA etc. It was the first time I had ever heard the Dirty Heads played at a wedding, but it was definitely us! We also wanted to include our sweet Lola in our wedding. It was definitely a pain to have her be a part of our ceremony but we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!

An Intimate New Zealand Beach Wedding – Tabi & Roy

Sarah_McEvoy_New_Zealand_Wedding_Photographer_052

What’s better than a day at the beach? How about when your parents live on the coast and are willing to host your wedding day? Well that’s exactly what tattooed bride Tabi’s parents did for her and Roy’s wedding earlier this year. With photography from Sarah McEvoy Photography, the day looks totally chilled out.

Early on, we both agreed that we really liked the idea of having a small, intimate wedding with just our immediate families – to create a really relaxed and special atmosphere where we, and our guests, could just enjoy ourselves. No pressure, no fuss, but an amazing day.

As you may have noticed, we had a lot of DIY aspects in our wedding. In fact, almost everything that we could DIY, we did! It did begin to seem a bit mad, all of the projects that we wanted to accomplish but that’s just us – we love doing things ourselves, making things to our liking or needs, and being able to customise them to perfectly suit us as a couple. Towards the end it definitely seemed crazy, but it was so worth it!

Roy and I spend a lot of time together on projects and hunting for bits and pieces that we can renovate or up-cycle and add to our home. We also agreed that we wanted our wedding theme to be somewhat simple.

An Indian Echo Cavern Wedding – Nora & Ryan

_MG_3761

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with a stunning, intimate wedding captured by Philter Photo where the couple were wed inside the gorgeous Indian Echo Caverns.

Ryan is a huge Philadelphia 76ers fan.  He goes to a game every year, and now I do too.  haha.  We went to the annual game on Jan 16th, a Friday night.  I don’t know if you know or know, but the 76ers suck.  They actually won the night that we went.  Ryan was ecstatic.  We went back to the hotel and went to sleep.  The next morning we walked to the Philadelphia Art Museum, which Ryan had never been too.  Now, at that time of year it was FREEZING outside and we walked about a mile there.  When we got there we walked up the million steps.  I was reaching for the door because I was so cold and Ryan kind of pushes me to the side behind one of the huge pillars and drops immediately down to 1 knee.  Honestly I don’t remember if he said a little speech or just right away asked.  I obviously said YES!  We hugged and kissed and then I was literally sweating and needed a minute to recuperate.  We went inside and did our thing (called family/friends and toured the museum).  When we were getting ready to leave Ryan had to stop at the rocky statue and pose with it to show his accomplishment.  haha.  Everyone got a kick out of that.

“The highlight of the wedding day is that it was FUN!  Ever since we started planning from day 1 we both said that we wanted it to be fun and comfortable.”
