A Cute Colchester Wedding

Good evening! Today’s real bride is Mindy – isn’t she gorgeous?!
I found Mindy through the wonderful Natalie of L.O.V.E Bouquets who created Mindy’s gorgeous arrangement. They had such personal details from having their son as the ring bearer to going back to their home town to celebrate at their local community centre which they decorated themselves.

“We met down the beach of my home town back in 2001. It was a nightly & weekend thing that the boys would turn up in their cars & would park up in a line on the grass & have a talk & a laugh & a kick around with a football. We started flirting by playing football & play fighting – I was always giving him dead arms.

One night after a few drinks down the beach, we kissed  & it just blossomed from there.

After a year of being together & I had just finished college I fell pregnant with our son, Bowen. It was then that we got engaged & I have been wanting to get married ever since. But affording to was the main reason why we didn’t till now. Bowen is now 9!! We booked the date last year & the date we picked was basically our 11th year anniversary of being together, which we thought was perfect. Continue reading

Accessories Ahoy! Preciously Mine competition!

Good afternoon and a happy 1st of the month!
To keep you in high spirits with this weather we’re having, I shall introduce you to one of my current crushes: Preciously Mine – “Classic, edgy and geeky accessories for ladies & gentlemen”

Preciously Mine Nautical Collection

Aren’t they gorgeous? Audrey is a fashion designer from Québec, creating clutches, handbags, wallets, iPhone, iPad and MacBook sleeves.
This week I had chance to speak to owner Audrey about her lovely clutches and how Preciously Mine started..

“I’m Audrey Lavoie, owner and designer of Preciously Mine.
Fashion school drop out, I finally found the time to start my business in November 2011. I started by making hair bows and bow ties to experiment with leather and vinyl. A couple of months later, I dreamt of a bow clutch and tried to make it the following morning! The result wasn’t fabulous but it was a good start. In March 2012, I came up with the first improved Preciously Mine bow clutch. I’ve been making clutches, purses, tote bags, wallets & other accessories since.

Black on Black Curved Envelope Clutch with Cheetah Lining

“My very first tattoo was 3 small stars on my left hip that I got at 17 years old. Two years later I started getting big pieces and it hasn’t stopped!
I have PRINCESS on my knuckles with a crown and a diamond on my thumbs. I also have a heart on the lower knuckle of my ring finger. Continue reading

Tattoo Tuesday: 31st July 2012 [UK Tattooed Bride Blog]

Good evening – Today for Tattoo Tuesday I bring you the gorgeous Annie Frenzel’s work. I follow her stuff on her Instagram and her blog and saw this beast:

Isn’t it amazing? The colouring on it is fantastic! “I don’t think I have a specialty really, but I love simple, strong and colorful designs.
I love Annie’s work, but being based in Germany, I’d have to take a holiday at the same time if I were to get tattooed. Do leave Annie some love – she’s phenominal!

Tattoo Tuesday: 24th July 2012 [UK Tattooed Bride Blog]

Welcome to another edition of tattoo Tuesday – The weekly post where you can email in your tattoo stories or, if you’re an artist, send in you favourite tattoo pieces. Which is exactly what this lovely lady has done..

Amy Grant. She is a new favourite of mine after finding her work on Intsagram. The colour and lining she uses in her tattooing is phenominal – especially in her vintage pieces such as mirrors and teacups.
Amy tattoos at Institute in Gorleston-On-Sea, Norfolk. You can see the studio’s Facebook here and Amy’s work here.

“Okay so this is my favourite one that I’ve been privileged to tattoo, the customer sent me some old flash of a smoking fighter pilot woman and for the life of me I can’t find the original or the artist who done it! But I re-drew the whole thing and can remember being nervous about whether he’d like it because it was so different to what he’d sent.

The reason its my favourite is because it was the last tattoo I done before I finished my apprenticeship, it was the one that made me feel comfortable and confident in what I was doing.”

Isn’t Amy’s work AWESOME?!! Don’t forget you can email in your tattoos and stories to marrymeink@gmail.com
