Tattoo Tuesday: 31st July 2012 [UK Tattooed Bride Blog]

Good evening – Today for Tattoo Tuesday I bring you the gorgeous Annie Frenzel’s work. I follow her stuff on her Instagram and her blog and saw this beast:

Isn’t it amazing? The colouring on it is fantastic! “I don’t think I have a specialty really, but I love simple, strong and colorful designs.
I love Annie’s work, but being based in Germany, I’d have to take a holiday at the same time if I were to get tattooed. Do leave Annie some love – she’s phenominal!

Luxury Dresses From Simply Bridal [UK Tattooed Bride Blog]

Good morning! I love starting the week on Marry Me Ink with something gorgeous to look at. Today I’m excited to introduce beautiful bridal wear from Simply Bridal –  who specialise in creating made to order dresses at amazingly reasonable prices.

Victoria Gown

I had the opportunity to chat to Shelly who is a part of the Simply Bridal community and she had lots to tell me about their gorgeous dresses!

“SimplyBridal started with the basic idea of helping the bride, not the middleman. All of our dresses are under $600 and made with outstanding quality in fabric, materials, and fit without the inconvenience and costs of traditional bridal boutiques and retailers. Our designer has over twelve years of experience in the fashion industry, and has designed for BCBGMAXAZRIA in Los Angeles, and Suzi Chin for Maggy Boutique in New York. She holds a BFA degree in apparel design from the Fashion Institute of Technology.

“Our brides inspire the dresses at SimplyBridal. As we have a variety of clients, we provide a wide array of dresses, anything from classic to modern and everything else in between.
At SimplyBridal, we are certain that every bride will be able to find the dress of her dreams.

Roasalie Gown

“I personally don’t have any tattoos, but one of girls at the Simply Bridal office has six. She has “toujours” on her inside wrist, this means always in French. She also has a cute little pig tattooed on her lower back, which is her zodiac animal.

I believe that a halter or strapless style would be a good fit for the tattooed bride; it allows a good amount of arm, chest, and back exposure. Also a tea length dress would be nice for the tattooed bride as well, as many girls have artwork on their ankles and feet.

Morgan Gown

“I find that the style of the dress is very dependent on the personality of the bride. Anything is possible! I think that vintage and modern dresses would be more fit for a tattooed bride over a very ornate style. I believe that the dress shouldn’t overpower the brides’ bodywork.”

Aren’t their gowns beautiful! Don’t forget to check our their other gorgeous gowns, especially the bridesmaids’ section – Lots of pretty! Thank you Shelly for sharing their wonderful website!

What I’ve Been Up To: Saturday 28th July 2012

Hi guys! How have we all been this week? Did you watch the Olympic Opening Ceremony last night? This here is my favourite picture of the night:

Hehe – I kid, I saw it this morning and found it quite funny. I loved The Hunger Games film, the book series is next on my list to read! (I’m on the last 100 pages of Larsson’s “Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” – It’s taking me a while but I’m enjoying it.) What are you reading?

What’s all your news? I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to? I have been left in charge of the family house and two pairs of guinea pigs whilst they all jetted off to Portugal for two weeks. I woke up on Tuesday morning to find these:

Yep – Two extra guinea pigs than I agreed to pig-sit, making that now three pairs!
Then, My temporary wardrobe decided to collapse, leaving me with piles and piles of clothes everywhere. I’ve seen a simple one from IKEA which I can add my own handles and decoration to, but for some reason, the website doesn’t want me to buy online?

Then of course I’ve been catching up with True Blood and Once Upon A Time. (It’s all happening in these two if you like your series!)

I’m going to go and make some lunch I think now – Bacon & eggs is good enough? And I’ll be experimenting with my hair later! Lots of lovely Directions colours!
Enjoy your weekend guys, there’s lots of lovely things coming up next week!

Tattoo Tuesday: 24th July 2012 [UK Tattooed Bride Blog]

Welcome to another edition of tattoo Tuesday – The weekly post where you can email in your tattoo stories or, if you’re an artist, send in you favourite tattoo pieces. Which is exactly what this lovely lady has done..

Amy Grant. She is a new favourite of mine after finding her work on Intsagram. The colour and lining she uses in her tattooing is phenominal – especially in her vintage pieces such as mirrors and teacups.
Amy tattoos at Institute in Gorleston-On-Sea, Norfolk. You can see the studio’s Facebook here and Amy’s work here.

“Okay so this is my favourite one that I’ve been privileged to tattoo, the customer sent me some old flash of a smoking fighter pilot woman and for the life of me I can’t find the original or the artist who done it! But I re-drew the whole thing and can remember being nervous about whether he’d like it because it was so different to what he’d sent.

The reason its my favourite is because it was the last tattoo I done before I finished my apprenticeship, it was the one that made me feel comfortable and confident in what I was doing.”

Isn’t Amy’s work AWESOME?!! Don’t forget you can email in your tattoos and stories to marrymeink@gmail.com
