Ross and Magenta: A Rockabilly Wedding On Lavender Farm

Ross and Magenta were married on the beautiful Kooroomba Lavender Farm in Ipswich and photographed by the lovely Leoni Bolt.

The couple wanted their wedding to be unique and quirky, including vintage cars such as Chevrolet Bel Airs and a Holden EK.

Inspiration for their wedding came from Ross and Magenta’s love of the 50s: “We love the 50’s & love all things eccentric & unconventional!” Continue reading

A ColourFUN, Dinotastic Wedding: Ren & Tim

How beautiful do Ren & Tim look on their wedding day? Photographed by the amazing Tino&Pip Photography – Ren & Tim’s wedding was VERY colourful – full of paper cranes and garden games at an old watermill. Just what Marry Me Ink loves!!

“Throughout my wedding journey, I was judged by the majority of suppliers and there was always a mention of how I was going to cover up my back tattoo or what I could do to make it less obvious. My mother has never liked my tattoos and chose to not mention it after it was clear that I would be showing all. So I booked in with my tattooist to try and get as much coloured in before the big day and although I still have 12 hours left it looked amazing.

No one in my family apart from my sister and parents even knew I had tattoos and no one apart from Tim had seen it coloured in so it was a nice surprise to everyone. Even my mega conservative family complimented it Continue reading

A Southern California Wedding: Ann & Jeff

How gorgeous is Ann? The lovely Glass Jar Photography sent me this through – how beautiful does the light look? The yellows and pale pastels colours are to die for! The vintage hints to this wedding are cute too. Also, the couple held there wedding at a venue that had orchards everywhere – perfect for an outside summer’s wedding!

“We met Ann to document her getting all dolled up at a place in San Luis Obispo called The Sanitarium. It was amazing, everything was decorated with local artist work, and even had a jam area in the front foyer of the house (where I threw down some sweet piano jams before we left). Very cool.

“Next, We were off to the actual wedding site in  Nipomo, California at the gorgeous Dana-Powers House. A Super Awesome venue with a barn in the back, circled by orange orchards, vineyards and the mountains where they had their entire wedding….it was perfect. I think it would probably win the award for the most unique venue that we’ve been to so far, not to mention that the weather there was phenomenal. 75 degrees and no humidity! It was paradise for us compared to the 105 degree super humid weather here in Alabama. It was a nice break for us.”

Ann’s strapless dress lets her gorgeous back tattoo be on show – especially as it comes over her shoulder.

The Big Red Barn Wedding: Casey & Jacob

Good afternoon! I’m still recovering from a fab week away in Murcia. Today I bring you a beautiful wedding in a big red barn! I met Casey and Jacob online through a band that Jacob was a part of (Which is actually how these two originally met also!) When I saw they were getting hitched – I contacted Casey straight away – she looked gorgeous on her wedding day complete with awesome bridesmaids in yellow!

“Jacob was in a band called Mike Mains & The Branches with some of my dear friends. When his band mate Shannon and I were in a wedding together, he saw some photos of me and told her I was beautiful. I was seeing someone else at the time.. so the following summer, he introduced himself to me. He was touring with his band, and we talked almost every day. One day I rented a car and drove five hours to see him play a show.

That night he asked me to be his girlfriend, and we’ve been happily in love ever since!

He would tour and we would send each other pictures and letters every day while he was gone. Finally, when he asked me to marry him, he moved to Chicago to prepare to build our lives together.

“From the big red barn to the DIY projects, our friends said they knew they were at our wedding. We decorated the centrepieces with owls, had a custom illustrated portrait made, wrapped our initials in yarn, and photos of us throughout our relationship around. We also set up a photo booth so we could have personal photos of our friends and family.

“I knew I wanted a strapless sweetheart dress to accentuate my shape, and I knew that my arm tattoos would flow really well with that style.
Jacob’s tattoos and mine both reflect our devotion to Continue reading
