Good morning! Can you believe that it’s June already?! Today I get to introduce you the Lynne, the genius behind Medici Macarons who is based in Hebden Bridge.

Hi I am Lynne aka Madam Medici (although I have been told not to use this term as it sounds like I am an owner of a house of disrepute rather than being a home baker!). My business is Medici Macarons and I make French macarons primarily for weddings either as towers as an alternative to a traditional wedding cake, as edible  weddings favours, or lose macarons for wedding dessert tables. I do a few celebrations and events too but weddings are my main business.

I am 53 years old and a bit of butterfly – this is my 9th career! I established Medici Macarons after a baking obsession morphed itself in to a business. I have been trading as Medici Macarons for nearly 2 years now and I have been doing weddings exclusively since April 2014. I am based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire and I hand deliver across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cheshire and the North West.

A love of making amazing tasting macarons is my main motivation behind my business. My main joy is working with local and seasonal ingredients. My signature macarons are my fruity ‘secret centres’ which are made with either fruit that is home grown, foraged, or from friend’s gardens. I make all my own jams and jellies and this makes my macarons a little bit extra special – you just can’t get the same flavours from mass produced jams. I pride myself on taking extra care and attention with my macarons – I want them to be as perfect as they possibly can.

I can create anything to match the tattooed brides style. I work closely with couples to talk about macaron colours and flavours and how we can display the macarons so they compliment the wedding theme and make a dramatic impact, as well of course as tasting amazing. I do love having a challenge too – something to keep me awake at night thinking ‘how on earth can I create that!’

Do you know I love working with all brides – it’s a fantastic job being able to share in a very small way in someone’s very special day. But I must admit I do like it when a bride comes along and asks me for something a little bit different, either a different presentation style or some different flavours.

I can honestly say that Lynne’s macarons are delicious! I had the wonderful chance to sample five different flavours last week! A macaron tower is definitely something that I would look into having for my wedding day! Be sure to go and check out the Medici Macaron website and go and check out her Facebook page and Twitter!
