Dark Neon – Industrial Chic Wedding Inspiration

A Neon Warehouse in the heart of Liverpool is the scene for today’s gorgeous Dark Neon wedding inspiration from Amy Faith Photography.

Hinterlands is a super cool licensed warehouse event venue in Liverpool that has become one of the hot new wedding locations for couples looking for somewhere un-traditional for their big day. The fact you can also get married there means you don’t have to go wandering around the city when you could be chilling and getting drunk with your guest.. I’ll let Amy give you an idea on how awesome this space is:

The guys at Hinterlands wanted a chance to show off their unique ceremony space, Eclipse, in the form of a high end styled shoot, using a bunch of wedding suppliers on the preferred supplier list. That’s where I come in! I’ve styled a few of my own quirky shoots and was pretty excited to get my teeth into something even quirkier. The chance to work on something that was completely devoid of any daylight! This may sound terrifying to some, and I’m not going to lie it was super challenging, but this is what I love about the wedding industry today: nothing worth doing is ever easy! It seemed a great way to celebrate something new.

So together with the Hinterlands we came up with a concept, design and overall style, which we then sent to each supplier as a brief for their products. It was brilliant to see so many different artists work with the brief in their own way and the end product was beautiful. Dark, edgy and raw, with a touch of elegance thrown in. Lit only by the event lighting rig, some beautiful old theatre lights, neon signs and candles we got to work capturing the entire space.

Our models really got into the spirit of the shoot, letting the choice of wardrobe and the mysterious darkness of the venue influence their style. The dresses and suits were chosen to show that you don’t always have to go for the normal white dresses or tweed suits that you see so often. The flowers, stationery and tableware complimented the dark style of the venue, while the moody splashes of colour from the neon lights, the accessories and the decadent cake were enough to elevate the mood to a party level. I mean, who would ever see a neon light and not think of music and dancing?

By using unconventional ways to display props and floral arrangements, as well as lights and furniture, the shoot began to form into a juxtaposition between elegance and industrial, a perfect balance of new and old, something that will delight the younger guests and enthral (and maybe shock) the older. Moreover, it’s about putting your own stamp on your day and knowing that everything you designed came from your own heart and soul, not from the pages of a magazine that doesn’t know anything about your personalities. A reason why I will always love creating styled shoots – without them how would couples ever know how daring they can be!?

I am absolutely in love with shoot – I honestly can’t choose my favourite part of it.. But I know I do love the fact the groom is wearing a cape(!!) from Adorn By Ashley. You can see a full list of the epic suppliers below, plus all the rest of the shoot – Which is your favourite part of the Dark Neon theme?
