A Nashville Wedding: Matt & Dana [UK Tattooed Bride & Wedding Blog]

Oh my word – Aren’t Dana & Matt THE most gorgeous couple ever? The photo above is my favourite – captured by the amazing Stephanie of La Photographie Nashville. If you haven’t already, you can read Matt and Dana’s engagement story from last week here.

Our initial idea was to elope in San Francisco at City Hall. However, we decided against it and decided get married in Nashville so our friends and family would be involved.

I wanted my tattoo on display! People would always ask if my wedding dress was going to have sleeves and I would always respond that I didn’t get a tattoo to hide it. The White Stripes are my favorite band, so I have apple blossom flowers for their song “Apple Blossom” on the outside of my arm. The inner part is a Day of the Dead girl because I was born on the holiday and have been obsessed with it since I was a girl. Matt is from Panama so all of his tattoos relate back to where he is from. He is also a professional chef so his half sleeve is of his favorite fruits and vegetables.

There were several mishaps but now that the wedding is over, all of the little things that happened seem trivial. Little things were left at the hotel and not brought over to the event site, and the DJ played the wrong songs and messed up the introduction.

Matt dropped red velvet cake on my dress, stuff that when it happened it seemed so detrimental, but looking back now – not so earth shattering. The highlight of the day was seeing Matt for the first time. We decided against a first look photo before the ceremony, so we didn’t see each other until I walked down the aisle. We don’t have any tattoos as a couple, but we wouldn’t be opposed to it if we could agree on a creative and meaningful idea.

Aren’t they both gorgeous? Do leave the lovely couple some love. A HUGE thank you again to Stephanie for allowing me to use her photos and to Dana and Matt for sharing their story.

A Nashville Engagement: Matt and Dana [Tattooed Bride Blog]

Good morning! I hope you enjoyed your weekends?! I for one purchased the most cutest shorts for our holiday to Spain later this year whilst we were shopping for Rob’s suit for a wedding we’re attending next week. Oh, and we ate too much YO! Sushi on their “Super! Sumo! Sundays!” (It was Rob’s first time!)

Anyway.. This week, I bring you the most gorgeous Dana and Matt – photographed by the equally as beautiful Stephanie of La Photographie Nashville.

Aren’t they beautiful together?!! Here’s Dana’s story of how they met and how Matt proposed..

I moved to Nashville not knowing a soul. I randomly met a girl at a bar and she took me to a house party. Matt was at the party and he slyly gave me his phone number. The next day I texted him and he took me salsa dancing. Going to bars by myself and going to house parties with strangers are typically things I would never do, but the one time I did, I met my husband and it changed my life in the most amazing way.

Matt came home from work one evening and asked me if I wanted to go for a walk through the neighborhood. I should have immediately realized at that moment something was up, because voluntary exercise is unusual for him. We walked to a nearby pond where we sat and talked for a moment. I unfortunately ruined the moment unknowingly because a bat began circling overhead. I begged Matt to leave and he obliged.

We continued to walk around the neighborhood and he asked to sit down again. As we sat on a boulder Matt popped the question. It took me completely by surprise!

I love the spot where he proposed because I drive by the area everyday

Aren’t they the cutest?! Leave them some love and be sure to head back next Monday for their beautiful wedding. (It truly is beautiful – you won’t want to miss it!)
