Manchester Urban Power Station Shoot – Nik Bryant Photography

Huncoat (69 of 76)

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you this awesome urban bridal shoot, filled with graffiti and smoke bombs, from Nik Bryant Photography. The gorgeous bride in question is actually Nik’s wife and she looks awesome in her wedding dress!

Huncoat (65 of 76)

I have been shooting weddings for roughly 3 years now and the ones that I fall in love with more than the others are the ones with a bit of a twist or an alternative touch.

Huncoat (42 of 76)

The location used was an old abandoned power station in the North West of England. Its a location I have used for shoots for bands and things loads and have always wanted to do a bridal shoot with a bit of a twist and this was the perfect location. My wife Laura has been to the power station with me several times to assist on shoots and had always said we should shoot a rock the frock/trash the dress shoot here and I was more than happy to oblige.

At the time of the shoot we had been married roughly 18 months. It was pretty awesome to see my wife in her wedding dress and it was something special to be able to photograph her in her wedding dress. How many wedding photographers can say they have photographed their wife in her dress?

Marry Me Ink Loves Miss Cake – 15% Off Discount Code

MissCake064

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get the chance to introduce you to the wonderful Miss Cake. Sarah, the owner of Miss Cake creates glittering cake toppers that make your cake speak – Perfect for your wedding!

You Got The Love Cake Topper

I’m Sarah and I am the owner of MISS CAKE, specialising in making laser cut cake toppers.

MissCake066

Once upon a time Sarah was a stressed out twenty-something social care worker when BAM! she hit 30 and had a Thrisis (mid-life crisis at thirty). Her then boyfriend Craig had been successfully running his own pest control business for years and suggested Sarah came to help manage his business and set up her own sideline.

Sarah (whilst swiftly avoiding any contact with pests and staying firmly in their home based office) loved baking and rediscovered her long lost artistic side by spending the next half of the year of the Thrisis creating iced works of cake art. Emerging from the icing sugar fog six months later and with a growing hatred of sculpting sugar figurines until midnight Sarah realised that she could find a better way to decorate cakes. After some research she found a gap in the market for fun, colourful and modern cake toppers and with all the thanks to Craig (and the pests) bought a laser cutting machine and taught herself some graphic design.

Tel Aviv Design Week – Dafna Bar-el

_BE_9841_©Ofir_Abe

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to introduce you to Tel Aviv based hair and make-up artist wonder Dafna Bar-el. As well as being a fab hair and make-up artist, she’s recently started to create her own line of wedding dresses. It all starting over the Tel Aviv fashion week a few months ago and I get to share her fab story with you!

I’m Dafna Bar-el and I’m a makeup and hair stylist from Tel Aviv in Israel, working mostly with brides. I specialise in vintage and alternative looks, and recently started designing bridal wear.

The room in the photos was actually designed as part of Tel Aviv’s design week. 12 interior designers were asked to design one bedroom inside an old train station compound in south Tel Aviv. This room was designed by Interior designer Gila Korach (which happens to be my boyfriend’s mom).

With gothic ambiance, a dark forest wallpaper, a broken mirrored wall, messy velvet bed covers and scattered bridal accessories, the room gave the viewers an intriguing and uneasy feeling of a wedding night gone wrong.

Immediately I knew I had to do a shoot there before it was taken apart a few days later. The styling was already figured out in my head since i previously fantasized about doing a bridal shoot with a Goth feel to it, with my newly designed dresses.
