Alternative Bridal Shrugs For Tattooed Brides – ETSY

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share my favourite bridal shrugs that I’ve been searching for on Etsy – They’re great for weddings during the cooler months or if you want to make you beautiful dress stand out even more on your wedding day!

Tulle Cape Wrap – Carroll Bridal

This beautiful cape is made with soft tulle and hand sewn rhinestone, pearls, beads – Perfect for a glamorous bride wanting that add vintage look to their dress!

Wearable Wings Feather Bolero – Firefly Path

These casual angel wings are an elegant addition to any ensemble! Plumes of dark iridescent feathers cascade down the front and back of your shoulders. Each black rooster feather has been trimmed and individually layered. The feathers are secured to a sheer netting bolero.

Long Hooded Cloak – Lorigami

This is the extra long version of Lorigami’s snow queen capes and can be made in any colour combination. There are also three different fabrics that the hooded cloak can be purchased in – 100% wool is thicker and great for winter weddings. The Alternative Fashion Fest

Alternative Fashion Fest is the first of it’s kind: A Socially conscious Fashion Show aimed at showcasing fashion design talent and retail brands local to each city we visit, whilst raising funding and awareness for The Sophie Lancaster Foundation and other charities in the anti-bullying, anti-hate crime, social inclusion and diversity sector. Lindy, PR manager of Alternative Fashion Fest, gave me the low down on what’s to be expected at their Preston and Manchester dates:

We have the most fabulous and diverse cast of models and performers ever to grace a runway, with fabulous music, entertainment and fashion all wrapped up in a big dose of tolerance and positive body image.

The soundtrack to the night got the biggest applause on our pilot show with some rockin’ tunes and kick ass mainstream/metal mash-ups to give you a taste of our amazing subculture and what we have to offer.

Whether you’re a designer, a keen sponsor or just wanting to spectate, we look forward to entertaining you with a show like nothing you have seen before. Roll up! we’re coming to a city near you!

And what’s even better is that there are some pretty awesome celebrities lined up at the next couple of shows too!! You can currently purchase tickets for the Preston, Manchester, London and Birmingham shows online at Eventbrite here. A proportion of all ticket sales is split 50/50 between a local charity from each city we tour and our own chosen charity, The Sophie Lancaster Foundation.

Effie Butterworth – Historically Accurate & Vintage Inspired Undergarments

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you a fabulous lingerie line which is perfect for your wedding day.. If you love the fashion of the Twenties then you’re in for a real treat! Recently, I had the chance to chat Ellis Stansfield – The creator of Effie Butterworth.

One of the most important things to me when I started ‘Effie Butterworth’ was the branding and imagery; from the very outset I decided I could not and would not scrimp on these things. The inspiration for the business name came from my two wonderful grandmothers and it has been important to me to honour their names.

I started my hunt for amazing branding with the logo, website header and business card and I think we can all agree that Scarlett Rickard certainly delivered on this – almost 12 months on from first seeing the original designs I am still completely in love.
