A Natural & Romantic Styled Shoot – The Tetley, Leeds

I hope you all had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend? Today on Marry Me Ink I get to share with you this gorgeous styled shoot from Your Choice Photography that took place at The Tetley in Leeds. The Tetley is part of Leeds history, and is a little bit of old meets new with redesign inside which makes for a lovely backdrop and versatile enough for any couple.

Jordan & Jamie have been together some years now, and travelled over from Birmingham to take part in the beautiful shoot. Jamie models in the alternative industry and had just the look that I was after… she is really authentic and very sweet. Jordan is a guitarist in ‘Failure Is An Option’ and the pair give off this natural sweet, but rock ‘n’ vibe!

All the styling on the day was by Add Vintage, Emily created some beautiful looks which were incredible when combined with the illuminations from Love Lights The Way.

Dark Neon – Industrial Chic Wedding Inspiration

A Neon Warehouse in the heart of Liverpool is the scene for today’s gorgeous Dark Neon wedding inspiration from Amy Faith Photography.

Hinterlands is a super cool licensed warehouse event venue in Liverpool that has become one of the hot new wedding locations for couples looking for somewhere un-traditional for their big day. The fact you can also get married there means you don’t have to go wandering around the city when you could be chilling and getting drunk with your guest.. I’ll let Amy give you an idea on how awesome this space is:

The guys at Hinterlands wanted a chance to show off their unique ceremony space, Eclipse, in the form of a high end styled shoot, using a bunch of wedding suppliers on the preferred supplier list. That’s where I come in! I’ve styled a few of my own quirky shoots and was pretty excited to get my teeth into something even quirkier. The chance to work on something that was completely devoid of any daylight! This may sound terrifying to some, and I’m not going to lie it was super challenging, but this is what I love about the wedding industry today: nothing worth doing is ever easy! It seemed a great way to celebrate something new.

So together with the Hinterlands we came up with a concept, design and overall style, which we then sent to each supplier as a brief for their products. It was brilliant to see so many different artists work with the brief in their own way and the end product was beautiful. Dark, edgy and raw, with a touch of elegance thrown in. Lit only by the event lighting rig, some beautiful old theatre lights, neon signs and candles we got to work capturing the entire space.

Canadian Winter Wedding Inspiration

The weather has been scorching this weekend – Who was more than warm at a wedding this weekend? I know I was! I thought we could do with a little cool down this evening and this winter wedding inspiration from Victoria Jean Photography.

Here in Canada, our wedding season is extremely seasonal. Between January and May is a slow time due to our harsh winters, so I like to use this time for some creativity. A few months ago, I had an idea for a styled shoot I thought would be fun. I wanted to go for a darker, moody themed shoot with dramatic details. Often times, couples avoid getting married in our off-season due to the weather; I wanted to show that our winter weather can still create a beautiful vibe too.

I reached out to some other local vendors and models, and we decided to put it together! The final result was well beyond what I had imagined. I’m from a small town in Newfoundland, Canada and the talent here is truly amazing – I wanted to make sure I gave each vendor creative freedom with this; I created a mood board for the theme, and let everyone work their magic from there.

I didn’t see any final details (except the dress) until the day of the shoot. We all had a chance to really push our boundaries, and everyone involved really put out their best work! I’m proud to showcase it through my photography.

This wedding inspiration is perfect for those planning their wedding for the cooler seasons – I especially love the use of the ferns in the flower arrangements. Thanks to Victoria Jean Photography for sharing this shoot – The whole team did a fantastic job!

A Dreamy Bridal Shoot In An Emptied Swimming Pool

Today on Marry Me Ink, I get to share with you an awesome spontaneous bridal shoot from Katie Dell Bridal Designs, Don’t Settle Petal and Lizzie of Shoot It Momma. The shoot was so spontaneous as Lizzie was contacted by her local sports centre to cancel her daughter’s swimming lesson due to pool being drained for repairs. Lizzie jumped at the chance and asked
immediately asked “Any chance I can I come and take photos in it while it’s empty?”.

“That is how easy it was to draw a big red line through one of the items on my photography bucket list.  I can happily say that ‘photo shoot in an empty swimming pool’ has been well and truly done thanks to general maintenance at my local sports centre!” explained Lizzie.

Along with Jody from Don’t Settle Petal I was more than a little bit excited for the opportunity. Not only is she a very talented florist, she’s also an awesome model and aced every part of it. I’m particularly loving her decision to add pink to her hair this week because it stood out perfectly from the blue of the pool!

Dresses came from the love that is Katie Dell Designs and even though we got them a little bit wet, no dresses were harmed during the shoot!  Katie Dell is launching their second collection, bringing a beautifully diverse range of simple silhouettes and modern textured fabrics.
