The Urban Tel-Aviv Bride

Today on Marry Me Ink I get to bring you a cool shoot from Lior Rotstein Photography. As well as the cute simplistic tattoos, we have some gorgeous dresses from Lee Kodo – The perfect dresses for urban bride.

‘Urban Bride’ is already a holistic concept in the wedding-world.. We gave our own interpretation to the urban bride. A bride who dares to wear a dress which is not necessarily the romantic-springy-flowery one.

The makeup by Ruth Toledo, we wanted to be subtle but present, skin-tone work is minimal, moisture-cream blended with a light makeup, light powdering, and winter toned lips (we used rich red, plum, bordeaux colours). The hair is styled in a light fashion (“I just woke up like this”). All of that comes with a photographic documentation. We gave a few ‘look’-proposals, with mixing varieties of styles – 20’s with a masculine jeans jacket that we found in our closet, metal blue stiletto heels.

The Tattooed Wedding Collective

So last weekend marked the 6th Tattoo Tea Party at Manchester’s Event City where Legend Bridal and I launched The Tattooed Wedding Collective and had with us some amazing suppliers who we loved getting to now over the course of the weekend after only ever speaking online.

After stamping 100 bags and filling them with goodies each morning, it was great to meet some awesome people over the weekend including some of you that are planning your own tattooed wedding! The epic ZT Photography joined us over the weekend and took the models and myself for a mini shoot by the dodgems on the last day – We had so much fun!

Debbie Gillespie Cake Design

As well as Debbie’s show stopping cakes, we also had Paragon Floral Design with us over the weekend and their eye catching area – complete with flying crows. They certainly attracted the majority of the visitors to our corner.

Unity Civil Celebrancy

We also had the delight of having Art for Soles customised shoes with us too – Complete with Harry Potter and Walking Dead shoes and bags!

CREATIVE // DOCUMENTARY // ALTERNATIVE // FUN // KICK-ASS

A fusion of creative, alternative, fun and documentary wedding photography, we are Zo + Liam. All round creative souls living by the seaside in Lancashire.

Our style is documentary with a side order of cinematic portraits. We love to capture emotion, bursts of movement, passion and energy alongside great narratives.

Debbie Gillespie Cake Design

I’m the Debbie behind Debbie Gillespie Cake Design.  I am an award-winning wedding cake designer, self-confessed Star Wars geek, lover of sushi and The Big Bang Theory.  I spend my days in my cosy Huddersfield workshop, listening to Radio 2 and creating edible works of art.  I love pretty flora and fauna, bold colours but mostly anything fun and quirky.  If you want a wedding cake that is totally bespoke, unique to you and a little out-of-the-ordinary, then I am definitely your woman.  No cake is too small/big/crazy!

Fruit Bat Textiles

Fruitbat Textiles is a Somerset based business that specialises in weaving and millinery. Last year the business released its first bridal collection, taking inspiration from Irregular Choice shoes. The Tattoo Tea Party will be the host for the launch of the second bridal collection and we can’t wait to see what you all think! This is the largest display the business would have done to date and we’re really looking forward to meeting some incredible, and talented people.  Continue reading

I Paint Flowers – Sand Dune Bridal Inspiration

Today on Marry Me Ink, we’re escaping this blustery weather and diving into the sand dunes with this floral inspiration including a gorgeous dress from Oh My Honey and photography from Marie Marry Me and Mira Al Pajarito.

The idea of this shoot was born a few months ago. In May we were working in London, and we met Oh My Honey, a vintage bridal brand based there. All the designs are absolutely feminine, with this special vintage touch… It was love at first sight! We had to work with Louise! This summer we contacted Felip Ariza to ask him to do an illustration (love his art!), we started planning this shooting. He sent us an illustration of two Mexican skulls (many thanks again Felip, they are lovely!). We took this picture as a departure to plan something. Our very first idea was a Mexican wedding inspiration shoot, but we realized that maybe it would be better to play only with the couple, in a private lovers shoot. We were also working in a fall inspiration shooting, based in a Charles Baudelaire’s poem: Autumn Song. Martin and I preferred to simplify things to keep working with both ideas.

We wrote Louise to let her know about the idea, and she was so excited too! She helped us to create the looks, in collaboration with L-O-M Fashion and Oh My Honey, a fashion brand with beautiful colourful designs, and some weeks after we received a parcel with a collection of gowns, silk scarfs, skirts, petticoats… When I opened the box, it felt like Christmas morning!

With Gaëlle, from Carnet de Noces, we planned a simple couple shooting in the dune of Pilat, the highest dune of Europe. Can you imagine the views? Just awesome… We told the story to Julie, a jewellery designer. She easily got the concept and sent us some look-books with designs from l’Atelier des Dames. We love her idea about to mix different beaded bracelets, to create a wristband!

Marie was wearing a red flower crown that Esther of Prairie Sauvage made for the shoot. She made also a boutonnière in the same palette for Romain. They were both simply lovely! Julia Marty, the artist behind the brushes, highlighted her cheeks and painted her lips in red. She tied Marie’s hair in a low bun, to crown her head with red flowers. She was gorgeous… We wanted red floral accessories, something less formal than a bouquet. And Esther helped us to choose the perfect match for the couple.
