Today I get to share with you the gorgeous wedding of Emily & Aaron photographed by the Lakshal Perera with a very stylish theme.

“We had very clear instructions to all vendors about what we wanted and why.”

I have a very monochrome style in day to day life” explains Emily, “and this definitely showed in the wedding. I guess we didn’t do things just because you are supposed at a wedding. No flowers, we didn’t have any traditional songs and honestly didn’t listen to anyone suggestions.

We were engaged for 5 years, so I had so much time to make things that I refused to pay top dollar for! I think the bouquets were the most fun to do- as I had no real time constraint. I started making those about 18 months before we got married.

Today I’m excited to announce a fabulous new sponsor on Marry Me Ink (You may have seen some of his awesome couples’ shoots on here before), Daniel Hough Photography

Being a fellow Mancunian, I was so excited when Dan asked to be a part of Marry Me Ink. Especially when I get lots of awesome engagement shoots to share with you!

Hey, I’m Dan. I am based in Cheshire/Manchester but I will happily travel anywhere to photograph your wedding.

I love the true beauty of capturing the emotion and love of such a day. From the nervous laughter before the ceremony, to tearing up during the reciting of the vows, all the way to me joining in the crazy dancing with camera in hand.

A Wine Bar And Bistro Wedding In Ohio – Johnna & Will

2013-11-24_0013

Today I get to share with you Johnna & Will’s wedding that took place at Cork’s Wine Bar & Bistro in Ohio with fabulous photography from Meghan G Photography

2013-11-24_0070

We met when a mutual friend invited us on a day trip to Put-In-Bay.  We locked eyes and hated each other instantly. At one point during the day we were arguing in front of a group of total strangers, but by the end of the day we were laughing and holding hands.  We’ve been together ever since.

It was really important to us to keep the entire event true to us.  There were so many little details that we included such as using a Dr. Seuss poem in place of a prayer or religious reading during our ceremony.

“We each had a deceased grandparent that meant a lot to us so we each wore an heirloom of theirs during the ceremony. His was his grandfather’s pocket watch and mine was my grandmother’s wedding rings.”

A Skull Filled, Black And White Wedding In Milwaukee – Sarah & Jon

2013-11-16_0046

“Unbeknownst to me, for 2 years he had been folding 1,000 origami cranes for me. He only worked on it while I was at school or work. As the legend goes, if you fold 1,000 cranes, your wish would come true. 1,000 cranes is also a common wedding gift in China to wish a thousand years of happiness and prosperity upon the couple.”

I love Sarah’s story of how Jon proposed to her on her birthday in 2011. As well as being a magician, bartender,, graphic designer, balloon animal maker, punk rock music enthusiast and many more, he is also an origami artist.

“We made all of the white cranes for the backdrop, Jon held an origami 101 class and taught me and my girls how to fold them and we made a night of it.”
